Jalen Hurts and Greg McElroy both said RRS was the loudest stadium they have ever played in.

Having gone to that game many many times it's insane how loud it is. One side or the other is screaming on every single play, its never quiet. Also texass sucks

I would drop LSU down a few notches.

Meaningless. Most SEC teams would have the same or better record against the crappy competition you've been facing.

I mean when the Big 12 first started the Big 12 was better than the SEC. In 2000 OU beat Nebraska, Texas, and Kanas St. In 3 straight weeks and all were top 5 teams with KSU and NU being ranked #1. A&M was good then and Mike Leach had TT in the top 10 and Colorado and OSU were top 15.

I agree with the SEC schedule argument, since around 2005. It doesn’t really hold up all time. As late as the 80s SEC teams were playing five or six conference games a year. Say what you want about the Big 8 but at least OU played every team. Some of the matchups involving the better teams in the SEC haven’t been played that much given the sport s long history. Also SEC used to be notorious for scheduling late cupcake games.
Creative scheduling in earlier decades gives some context, at least when comparing OU’s home record against those of older SEC teams.

I don’t know what Florida s home record is. But saying that most SEC teams would do just as well against OUs old schedule is a stretch.

During Stoops tenure OU had more conference titles than it had home losses.

I do love the SEC environments. OU usually doesn’t get ranked high on that. A&M and LSU get the love in those “rankings “.

But Owen field and OMS is no easy place to win for opponents. The close proximity of seating around the field can be intimidating. And the aura of the place is real.

It may not be the loudest or get the writer accolades but it’s a tough place to play.

Context matters on these rankings as well.

For example, when I went to LSU it was in 2012 and SC was ranked #3 in the country and it was a night game in Death Valley. Game went down to the wire and the crowd was unbelievable. So, it's #1 on my list.

Compared to my trip to OU in 2024 when it was an 11:45 AM local game and the score was 32-3 South Carolina at halftime. So, the crowd wasn't great as a result. I'm sure that place gets rocking for big games, but as a result it's lower on my list.

I agree that LSU’s stadiums is tops on the list. Last year, that place was rocking so loud in the second half that LSU’s team was SHOOK.

Lost the last 2 times you played at Neyland

Jordan Hare you got away with wins you shouldn't have the last 3 games, kind of skewed[/quote]

LOL...and neither is remotely relevant to the fact I pointed out.
