I believe the big AU boosters refuse to go all in on a coach they didn't help hire. Selfish I know. This AU NIL program has price brackets that cut most fans out of the equation. I hate it but it seems everyone is gonna settle for average with a lucky title run mixed in once every 10 years

When Nick Saban started getting the big money boosters back in action in Tuscaloosa for their 2008 class it was obvious that the wins would shortly start piling up after. They'd been scared to bring out the big money guns because they nearly got the death penalty in the early 2000s for getting caught paying a 5 star lineman, Albert Means, out of Memphis. With that hesitancy out of the way, they went on to sign the #1 class in 2008 and 2009. Those classes paved the way for 3 out of 4 National Titles.
A&M is doing the same thing, although legally, this go around.
As for saying Fisher hasn't been a winner, please. He won a Title at FSU and had six 10+ win seasons. The only year that wasn't successful was when their starting QB went out for the season in game 1 in 2017.
A&M is about to be an absolute force. Get the jokes in while you can I guess.
pure barner drivel

Think about Justin Fields and Joe Burrow. Hell, look at Williams for Bama. Kids transfer to play and just because their initial school doesn't give them that opportunity, doesn't mean they're not good. It's not a knock on A&M. Lots of schools will have trouble holding on to many of the players they recruit in these classes.
11 starters on offense and 11 on defense. Money or not, these universities aren't paying what NFL contracts pay. Meaning, you can't get to the NFL without playing time. Therefore, a lot of kids will initially start at 1 school but end up playing elsewhere. There are PLENTY of players that entered the portal this year that started this season on their team.
Do you honestly think a kid will sit for 2 -3 years behind a player in hopes of getting 1 -2 seasons of playing time? When he can transfer and play 3-4 years? Typically, schools don't stockpile talent at the same position. That's what makes everything go smooth. Go look at some of this years classes, they have multiple 4* & 5* kids at the same positions. Remember this conversation. In 2 years compare A&M's roster to this actual class. You're gonna be surprised by who and how many are elsewhere. Bama, UGA, Texas, etc. Average players may stay and just be happy with NIL $$$ Good/great players want playing time.
They should've implemented NIL OR transfer portal but not both.

Awful take. There’s one Nick Saban and only one.
1. Everyone knew the juggernaut that he was. He had LSU rolling, he didn’t run away from LSU like Jumbo did FSU.

I believe Fisher will win a championship, when Saban retires and he takes over Bama like Bear. He can say daddy called and told him to come home.

Comparing apples to oranges. NFL isn’t college football.

The rant sure has spent a considerable amount of time over here describing coach Saban as a failure and quitter before he went to BAMA.

You're trying too hard and doing it wrong (probably as a result in me getting under your apparently really thin skin)

You are spot on. I said this in an earlier thread. AM is going to be a national force. Hell of a recruiting class. People are in denial
Agreed to an extent, but Saban has done something that no one else has been able to do in retaining players and selling them on competition in practice and that’s the culture at Bama now. Jimbo is going to have to have to build the same culture and do so in a time where there aren’t any penalties for bailing as soon as you don’t win a starting job. I think it’s going to be tough to keep a position room full of 5* players year over year going forward for every school not named Bama, but time will tell.

So what the frick is Auburn’s problem? Do y’all intend to sit back and watch another SEC program pass you by without putting up a fight?

based on history, I'm not seeing it. a&m has 1 conference title since 1996 - won in 1998.
They were average to below average in the big 12, they are average to below average in the sec.

Between 1985-1993 A&M won 6 conference titles and went undefeated in 1994. What's your point?

Between 1996-2010 only six teams won the Big 12. Only 3 teams from the South Division ever made the title game (all three won the conference at least once) and 4 teams from the North Division made the title game (3 of them won one title each). Texas Tech, Kansas and Iowa State are the three teams from the original Big 12 to never make the championship game or win a title.
