During Miles first 6 or 7 years at LSU, LSU & Florida WERE the SEC!!!
His teams were tough and the players played their hearts out for him. You only remember his later years before being fired.

Saban came here and that marriage MUTUALLY benefited Saban and LSU. He was finally able to get elite talent and LSU had a highly competent coach.

Miles came and nobody really knew what to expect. He coached in the shadows of Saban, who some fans never got over. However, Miles recruited at a high level and players loved him. His downfall was Jordan Jefferson and the putrid offense in his later years. He even had some bad defensive years then too. But in his first 6/7 years, we won PLENTY of BIG GAMES and there was never a game that LSU fans didn't truly believe we would win.

Coach O had a wild personality and fans liked him because of it. He gave us some to look forward to because his teams improved. Then came the 2019 season and it was the greatest! He imploded rather quickly after which brings us BK.

BK came with hopes of finally winning a NC to cement his legacy amongst the coaching greats. He himself was under the disillusion that a title had eluded him due to lack of talent, not coaching. He had a Heisman QB and didn't even sniff the playoffs!. Look at the expectations coming into this season. BK is overrated and I would bet $$$$ he NEVER wins a NC at LSU.
Nah, JF has a NC. BK is just another average HC that thought his entire career he was as good, if not better than most of the other HC's in CFB but that he just needed better talent to show it. He finally got that opportunity and is now learning along with the rest of the CFB world that he was a fraud.
Kiffin is hands-down the BEST offensive mind in CFB and would probably be top 5 in the NFL.

For everyone that is against him as LSU's HC, had we hired him instead of BK, we certainly wouldn't have done any worse. Kiffin is a better HC than BK.

BK benefited grossly from only having 1 or 2 big games all season. The games he typically lost were to opponents that had as much or more talent than he did. Honestly, where do you think most people rank BK in terms of coaching in the SEC? He's a horrible HC.
The defense did what they could. At the end of the day, they gave the offense the ball twice, down by 7. The offense couldn't produce a score and we lost.

Look at UGA yesterday, OM went up & down the field and scored td's on 5 straight possessions. UGA's D finally got stops in the 4th qtr and the offense took advantage.

Thats what having a competent offense can do.

re: Is Perkins still elite?

While I don't think Perkins is "elite", he's always been a pretty good player. The problem is that teams have schemed him out of position. They now force him into coverage which exposes his weakness.

That said, it doesn't help that Baker tries to disguise when Perkins in blitzing by having him play too far off the LOS at times. Teams assign a player to specifically account for Perkins in many situations as well. The Weeks brothers have a lot of opportunities to make plays but oftentimes they're out of control once they get into the backfield. My biggest gripe with them is they hardly ever make big plays IN THE BACKFIELD because they are out of control and lose containment.
IMHO...I HIGHLY doubt he's winning a NC during his tenure there. If that holds true, it will be an absolute horrible contract. If we're being honest, $10m/yr is the kind of $$$$ where anything less than a NC during the contract is FAILURE!

Kinda like when he criticized the current team's issues and many on here thought he was talking out his azz! Then he says something they want to hear or agree with and now he's speaking gospel.

Go back to that thread about a week ago and look at how many posters had negative shite to say about Fehoko but now some of them are the same ones believing and agreeing with his assessment of RC.

I don't care one way or the other. Talking heads on tv that I tend to not care to hear from, I don't watch their shows or listen to what they have to say.

Watch RC if you like him.....turn the channel if you don't.
So now that Fehoko said things that some people "wanted" to hear, he's telling the truth?

Strange, because a week ago when the video of him talking about the issues on this current team was posted, MANY people said he was just trying to get clicks and that he didn't know what he was talking about.

Funny how that works out. I guess it's true, people just believe what they want to.
Meh....If the coach isn't likeable, that kinda permeates throughout the sports world.

Typically, there's traits that fans don't like, which often are the same issues that recruits see and don't like. Add that if the media don't really like the coach, then that can translate into being covered in an unflattering way. From there, it can lead to not being given the benefit of doubt and that could definitely impact rankings and playoff chances.

Basically, there are possible consequences when a HC is considered "unlikeable". I don't think the media doesn't like him, I just think they don't truly believe in him. IMHO he's a GOOD coach but nowhere near ELITE.
Man, if BK NEEDS to watch film to understand what some of the issues were in that game, he's definitely the wrong coach for the job. As a fan, I'm sure, no I GUARANTEE that were issues you spotted in real-time.

Personally, I don't care what he says in postgame press conferences or any other conference. BK just says whatever and his teams always continue to have the same issues all season.

Two weeks of practice and healing/rest time etc, and the offense still looked inept, running game was marginally better, Oline still was bad, and Nuss made some pretty bad decisions.

The defense continues to be the better part of this team. This is how the season started and I have no doubt this is how the season will end. Nothing truly gets fixed once the season starts, we just ride with it until the season ends and changes are made. Once that problem gets fixed, the season starts and we have a new problem. Was, rinse, and repeat.

Excuse after excuse when the real problem is BK isn't a championship caliber coach.
Vincent, Carey, Broussard, AND Addai!

Addai even played some in the NFL. Our running game in 2003 was much better than currently. Our defense was better then too.

We ran for 200+ yards in all except 5 games...and we had 183 and 199 in 2 of those 5. Florida was the only team to hold LSU under 100 yards rushing that season. Conversely, LSU hasn't had a game this season where we've rushed for CLOSE to 200 yards.
Who avoids a head-on collision by driving into a head-on collision? Why not rear-end the gold truck as opposed to a head-on collision? That just doesn't make sense. Not a single person on this post can honestly say they would've opted to crash head-on into another vehicle to avoid rear-ending a vehicle on the side of the road.

Then again, I guess nobody heard when she said she was trying to make it into the parking lot. Did she mean the parking lot to her left...across on-coming traffic because she swerved left.
While I agree that we need a competent OL, I disagree somewhat with your statement. Let's not pretend that JD5 didn't indeed mask all the problems of the prior OL. While that OL had some players that were individually talented, they couldn't produce holes and our running game was just as horrible....EXCEPT for JD5.

So YES, a mobile QB can mask, to a degree, a horrible OL. This exact same team with JD5 at QB would be assured a playoff spot and possibly a shot at a NC.
Yea because ultimately you believe that to avoid a head-on collision with Lacy's car, the female driver opted to swerve into another vehicle causing a head-on collision.

:rotflmao:

Typically, when things make no sense, it's often because they're not true.

ATP, I'm done with it. Some people will always be convinced Lacy caused the "events that led to the crash" and some will always believe he was innocent of causing the crash and that other events in this situation are sketchy to say the least.

I'll be 50 next month and I realize everybody has different views and opinions.
The part many are missing is the data from the vehicle boxes.

The gold truck driver pulled off the road without "slamming on his brakes" (according to his own statement). The data from his vehicle shows he was travelling at a rate of 28 MPH.

The female driver behind was travelling at a speed of 49 MPH, according to the data from her vehicle's box. She is following .5 seconds behind the gold truck. Do you know how close that is while traveling almost 50 mph?

She stated the gold truck stepped on his brakes, then braked hard. She also states that she "tried to make it to the Dollar store parking lot".

She was following much too close, at too high rate of speed, and when the gold truck braked and pulled over, she MORE THAN LIKELY attempted to either swerve around him OR she tried to cut across traffic and make it into the parking lot of the Dollar Store.

Nobody and I MEAN NOBODY opts to swerve into on-coming traffic (head-on collision) over swerving off the road into another vehicle or a fixed object.....UNLESS you aren't paying attention and are distracted by something else and all of sudden panic when you look up.

Couple that with the officer initially citing her for following too closely, the gold truck driver saying on video " she caused that accident", and the officer "coaching" the witness as to what he should include in his statement.

The black guy at the scene told multiple accounts of what happened all while standing there and talking. I don't think he was being dishonest or anything of the sort. I just know that witnesses oftentimes get tunnel vision or aren't trained to accurately remember the details in an emergency situation. It takes some training to do. I've showed up to emergency situations with witnesses that were definitely present during the entire incident and get multiple stories from multiple people, as well as conflicting information from the same witness.

It takes an amazing amount of will-power to swerve into a head-on collision to avoid rear-ending a vehicle OR hitting a telephone pole but that's the story many on here choose to believe. That's fine, we all just will never see this the same, and that's ok.
I don't have a problem with the BK HIRE, my issue is with the CONTRACT!

I would've been fine with a contract in the $9m/year for 5/6 yr range. IMHO, no coach without a NC deserves to be paid in the $10m/yr ballpark but that's just me.

Schools need to start getting away from 9 and 10 yr contracts, that's just too long.
This is comedy hour material. The LSP releases footage of the officer arriving on-scene and witnesses telling AND RE-TELLING what happened.

"He went right between them. He cut someone them off, that car, no someone else". From the military to working 25 years at a Federal Penitentiary, one thing I can guarantee is witnesses can be at the incident and tell different stories. You have to do the investigative work to figure out the facts. Many people can't slow their brain down and accurately remember and report what they witnessed. We had MANY officers that couldn't work in the Control Center because when an emergency occurred, they would panic.

You stated how the gold truck driver said the charger was coming head-on. The problem with that is was it head-on where you felt you were going to be crashed into, OR was it head-on as in at some point you observed the charger from afar in your lane of traffic?

Little details matter. There's no disputing Lacy illegally passed multiple cars. However, if you listen to the audio in real-time, Lacy was FULLY IN HIS CORRECT LANE OF TRAFFIC BEFORE YOU HEARD THE CRASH.

Therefore, the female driver had to swerve into on-coming traffic AFTER Lacy was back in his lane.

Is it possible that her "following too closely" played a role? Why was she cited for that and then the citation done away with? The data box from her vehicle confirmed that she indeed was following too closely.

Meh....The man in the gold truck stated he didn't need to slam on his brakes, he pulled off to the side. His truck data box showed he was traveling 28 MPH before he pulled over.

The female driver of "vehicle 2"data box showed she was driving 49 MPH behind the gold truck and she initially was cited for following too close. That citation was done away with.

The female driver stated she was eating a bag of chips that were in her lap. If I had to guess, she was frustrated with how slow the man in the gold truck was driving and was on his bumper. A combination of her glancing down to get more chips and looking back up is when she noticed the gold truck pulling over and by the time she got her eyes back on the road, she more than likely she panicked and swerved into oncoming traffic.

Just some things to think about.

1. Why swerve into oncoming traffic (a head on collision) when she could've swerved off the road and impacted the gold truck which was a much better option.

2. You swerve left in this instance if you not paying attention to the road and don't know there's a vehicle in the opposite lane that's that close.

3. If she was going the speed limit, she could've safely pulled over just as the gold truck did.

100 yards isn't as far as people think on a road with cars traveling at excessive speed opposite each other. I can definitely understand how many put some blame on Lacy.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Both Lacy and the female driver of vehicle both were travelling at excessive speed and Lacy illegally passed several vehicles. Just as much as people think Lacy's actions are to blame for the crash, I find it hard for the female driver to bear no blame when she was speeding and distracted by eating a bag of Funyuns in her lap. There's a reason most states have passed a law against simply having a cell phone in your hand period! Too many drivers are distracted and it only takes a split second. I just don't get who swerves into on-coming traffic and thinks a head-on collision is a better option than crashing into the back of someone...unless you were distracted and didn't have your eyes on the road and by the time you looked up, you panicked!
When a HC retains his job solely due to his buy-out and not his performance, that tells you all you need to know about him.

Bk has always been a good coach, never elite. Watching him make bad hires, retain bad hires, and constantly have a completely disastrous unit on one side of the ball every year explains why he's not elite, and probably never will be.
Meh...I'm not sure that really matters.

Breiden Fehoko played for LSU and people on the rant still said he didn't know what he was talking about. :rotflmao:

Everything I mentioned has been there in-game for ALL to witness.
