I happened to watch the Baylor version of that Locked On podcast network. They are downright giddy and think it's a chance to whip up on an SEC team. The guy spent most of the show cackling about all the LSU players who have opted out, gone into the transfer portal or declared for the NFL draft.

GeauxTigers!

I watched the same video and didn't get that vibe at all. More like "we suck and hope to beat LSU since they have a handful of starters not playing".

NIL is pay for play and nothing to do with image and likeness.

I've posted variations of that statement since NIL became a thing and always get negged for it. I guess some people can't deal with the truth.

Well, they do call it the No Fun League..

There's no reason for me to believe that OU wouldn't be a 10-2 Big 12 team as they have done that the last 20 years, but drew probably #1 or #2 SOS.

No way they win 10 games with that team unless they are playing in CUSA. All signs point to Venables not knowing what the frick he is doing. This is the second time in 3 seasons they finished with 6 wins. Venables has had two different sets of offensive and defensive coordinators since he has been there. Riley left for USC a few years ago and if you were a freshman that Riley recruited and stayed at OU, it would mean you've actually played for 3 different offensive or defensive coordinators.

OU is in disarray.

I was a toddler when that game was played, but I'm willing to guess that much of what you have said is horse shite. Were there hippies in the 85? Plus, they finished the regular season 8-3 with a win over #3 USC. Hardly a shite team.

No, he is spot on. Arnsparger let the team drive up to Memphis individually and with teammates for the week and legend is that they tore the town up. We basically had a punt return for a TD early in the game, and that’s it. Lost 21-

I thought hippies were from the 60s and 70s?

Getting to your point, this would have described our team?

As a general rule, frick all of the other teams in the SEC.

The exception might be Vandy. I would be happy for them if they won something.

I'm not stupid enough to waste my money propping up Harris County.

You have given a very non-football related yet specific reason lol
That was never my point, although I doubt they give us all we can handle.

This is constantly repeated on here he can't do this it's illegal.

It's not illegal. It may break some kind of ncaa rule - but those are hardly enforceable anymore. We are on the brink of revenue sharing..

Instead of asking the fans to pay up, schools need to reign in their ridiculous spending - such as the coaches who make millions upon millions. Most of that money should be going to the players.
CBK makes +$9M a year.

Reduce his salary and give it to the players.

This is kind of disingenuous..

Disingenuous? The only thing disingenuous is fluffing up their competition. Let's review the facts and add some more details.

- started off 0-3 in conference. Check.
- they were 2-13 in their last 15 conference games at that point. adjusted and checked..
- Their win streak coincides with playing the bottom half of the B12. Check.

Let's look at who they beat on their win streak. Note that conference standings are based on tie breaks because of identical conference records.

TTU - 7th in conference. 111th in scoring defense
OK-Lite - 16th in conference with 0-9 record
TCU - 6th in conference. 84th in scoring defense, 95th in rush defense
WVU - 9th in conference, 109th in scoring defense
UH - 12th in conference, 3-6 conference record
KU - 10th in conference, 80th in scoring defense, 106th in pass defense

Their win streak absolutely coincides with beating the bottom half of the conference as well as some of the worst defenses in FBS football.

Personally, I am not excited at all. I think bowls have lost their cool factor with so many being played now.

I agree and would add that most bowls lost their cool or exclusivity factor decades ago..

For perspective, there were 41 bowls in 2015, 28 in 2005 and 18 in 1995.

I’d hold off til you see the opt outs for both sides. You’d literally just be guessing with your money

That's good advice. However my gut tells me to bet on us to cover as much as -8

Baylor is better than what their record indicates, I've watched all their games this year. They have been playing sound defense and their offense has been efficient and balanced. Robertson is a threat to run at the QB position as is his backup. Never thought I'd see the day where LSU played Baylor in football. There are 3 Baylor degrees in my house and 1 LSU degree. My wife has her two from Baylor and I have my Undergrad from LSU and Masters from Baylor... My house will be Purple and Gold for this game

They are worse than their record indicates.I work with quite a few alumni from B12 schools, Baylor included. We all get together and watch a lot of games. Most of their fans I've talked with wanted Aranda fired last year. This year their conference schedule was front loaded and they started off 0-3 and they were something like 3-14 in their last 17 conference games at that point.

Their win streak coincides with playing the bottom half of the B12. I realize you still have to line up and win but they have beaten the worst in their conference and lost to the best. That and this is probably the weakest the Big 12 has ever been. I would say they are closer to a 6-6 team vs what their record shows.

Back to top BCS ended in 2014. Bringing in AI and computation advances makes computers models much more dependable. Hire the best in the business, create models with different weights to provide a variety of results, and factor those in the same way the BCS did. Computer models will ignore status and tradition and just go based on facts and statistics.

If we are talking fantasies..Create 7 divisions with 10 teams each and make everyone play a round robin. Conference winners and 2nd place get auto bids. Drop the CCG's. Invite 2 G5 conference champs for a 16 team field. Each division should be created with geography and long standing or historical rivalries in mind, but also spreading things out too, so that you don't have 2-3 killer divisions with 4-5 weak ones.

Raise your hand if you give a shite about bowl games… Theres a 12-team playoff and we arent in it. Season is over.

Outside of a handful of bowls, most were shite even before the 4 and 12 team playoffs
