19 players transferred, far fewer came to the program through the portal, he’s lost 3 coordinators

That isn’t going on anywhere in the country

Sounds to me like he’s trying to take out the trash but there’s more trash than he realized.

Must not have been ready for “Southern” boys

It is time for Harsin and Auburn to part ways.

This is just the smoke. Y’all want to see just how bad it will be when the flames break through?

could absolutely see where a guy from Idaho couldn’t relate to black southerners. It’s not race so much as culture and understanding

But the kid who claimed that says that HE understands Harsin.

As always, a one way street as it pertains to race relations

You think a coach who can’t relate to inner city black kids is going to succeed at Auburn? I don’t.

In all honesty, how many men over 40 can relate to inner city black kids right now? Or almost any of today’s youth? Harsin isn’t doing anything Saban didn’t do in the 2000’s… it’s just a piling on in a social media age where the players have free reign to say what they want with impunity, leave when they want, and make demands on everything in a football program. The adults in the room should probably take all of this with a grain of salt.

I can barely understand their tweets and I’m from the South. I’m sure Harsin has no idea what he is hearing half the time. Does not make the English department at Auburn look good.

The guy was a head coach for seven years prior to the AU job. Are there similar stories of issues with his previous assistants and players? Was there a dramatic shift in his behavior simply due to moving from Boise to Auburn?

No doubt to me that BBQ gang wants him gone. That’s why Phillip Marshall and Local rag are promoting it. I don’t doubt Hardin is an arse and out of his league but I don’t believe half of what is being said about him and hope someone can be held accountable for slander but that’s not likely. Aubs have always ate their own. Just another example. Harsin is a decent coach and if everyone got behind him he could be a pain in Bama’s arse. They won’t do I don’t care if he stays or goes. Win win for me.

If a player’s biggest gripe is that his coach is a hardass then runs away, that says more about the the player.

I’ve played for both soft and hardass coaches, the hardasses won and I got stronger….

Sure but we don’t have to have Harsin change the culture just because he’s a dick, we can get someone else to fix that who can actually recruit, as well as hire and keep a coaching staff together

Who are you gonna hire? We’ve been mediocre for 15 or 16 years now. Hell, maybe even longer if you dip into Tubs last few years. You think recruiting is going to fix this? We’ve had good recruiting classes in that time frame and look where we are. You’ve gotta go all the way back to Brandon Cox to find a starting quarterback at AU that signed with us out of HS and graduated. Btw, his last season was 2007… there is a serious systemic cultural issue within the football program that isn’t going away until someone has the balls to run people off and do it without apologies. You and many others don’t like Harsin because you aren’t comfortable seeing the sledgehammer getting taken to the program like needs to happen in order to rebuild the program into a winner. Do you think a Saban or a Smart would treat this dumpster fire program with kid gloves if they were suddenly at the helm?

A source said Harsin made efforts to relate to players like the ones he had at Boise State – often from a working-class white demographic – but did not always make the same effort to connect with others – often Black players from urban areas in the South.

Harsin had over 40 black players at Boise State in 2019 and 2020 and several of his on-field coaches were black. Doesn't sound racist to me.

You think Harsin is a Saban or even Smart caliber coach? Or that he ever will be? I don’t. Smart and Saban both recruited well day 1 in the SEC. Both are hard on their players, but you didn’t have coordinators bolting for the fast train out of town plus players publicly complaining about them, and you definitely don’t hear about issues relating to the players with them.

The man may have faults as a coach but refusing to to kiss a players arse if he’s a minority is not one of them.

I truly hate Harsin and can’t wait until he is fired. He has no ability to truly lead and he is a shitty coach on top of that - seems to live in a bubble and can’t relate to anyone. Kirby Smart has more personality than him.
