If he's cleaning house, that's his prerogative. It was already known he was doing this. Processing, etc. But the spotlight is on him now, with the assistant thing. Now every little speck of shite is going to be a headline. Not good for him or Auburn. I'm not saying it is fair or unfair, or right or wrong, just saying how it is.
Bring a reality show family to run your program, your program becomes a reality show.

The Montgomery Advertiser is an Auburn mouthpiece.
Nope.

I believe what the former players said who left the program. I believe what the former coaches have said about him.
Multiple people who have left (via draft/graduation) have defended him as well. At this point people are just selectively listening though

I could absolutely see where a guy from Idaho couldn’t relate to black southerners. It’s not race so much as culture and understanding

Harsin is done. If he isn’t fired now he will be after next season unless he wins 10 games, which isn’t likely
At this point, whether accusations are right or wrong, he isn’t liked and has no support. Hard to succeed like that

Huh? That’s interesting. I know people in the athletic department and I’ve never heard them say anything negative about the guy.

Harsin's white privilege with the mindset you have to work hard to be successful has bit in the arse.

Looks like a coordinated character assassination.

What's going on at Auburn looks like the last presidential election to me. A coup is a coup.

A source also said Harsin hated the concept of name, image and likeness and made that clear to players. Harsin was particularly critical of players from low-income families who received money from NIL deals because he thought they lost their focus on football, one source added.
Well that could be at least one reason our recruiting is shite. He's not interested in kids good enough to get NIL deals. That would be moronic.

Anyone with eyes can see the Auburn program has been broken for a long arse time. These former players crying because coach was too hard on them proves it. That culture and that mindset is why we’ve had our shite pushed in by our 3 biggest rivals for years now. No discipline, no toughness, no winners mentality. The only reason we haven’t been at the bottom of the league is more talent than the league doormats.

Why is this even being mentioned then? People looking to be offended.
Because the statement made before about Harsin connecting better with white, working-class background kids had an implicit whiff of racism. This statement clarifies that no one has heard him make a racist remark, which may be a sign that Harsin just connects easier with people like himself. That doesn't mean he's a racist, but it calls into question whether he can be successful as a head coach in the SEC at a program in southeast Alabama.
It's not political, or snowflake, or woke, or whatever. It's a relevant issue to take into consideration if you're Auburn leadership.

Hopefully Auburn like our great nation can thwart the coup.

The thing is, it is an almost certainty that this type article could be written about any coach at any program. You just set a goal of putting a coach in the worst of light you can, find the most disgruntled players currently or previously with the team, interview them, add in some currently unsubstantiated rumors, and print.
All it takes is a few bruised egos and a mouthpiece or two.

It gives context for the article. You think a coach who can’t relate to inner city black kids is going to succeed at Auburn? I don’t.

I think it's possible that both perspectives are true at Auburn: some players couldn't stand him and some players love him. Switching from Gus Malzahn to Bryan Harsin probably would be culture shock to all involved. Chances are, there were some guys that were soft, some guys that just didn't fit the new system, and some guys that Harsin just didn't like.
It's possible that Harsin is an ivory tower hardass that thinks interactions with the players are beneath him and lessen his authority. It's likely he's a micromanager rather than a CEO. And it's likely that all of this worked better on smaller stages like Arkansas State and Boise State. I do know that he wasn't especially liked in Jonesboro, and they weren't sad to see him go.
You can't hide these things in the white hot spotlight of an SEC coaching gig, especially one like Auburn. What's evident is that Harsin better change some things stat if he wants to survive.

Sure but we don’t have to have Harsin change the culture just because he’s a dick, we can get someone else to fix that who can actually recruit, as well as hire and keep a coaching staff together.
