It was bad last year too.

It's our fault. The SEC fans boasting about "conference supremacy" for years, now we are the whipping boys.

Just root for your team, not a conference. Problem solved.

What we have now is a watered down version, closer to the UA all American HS showcase than a sport. Bunch of babies playing and coaching for schools they don’t give two shits about.

I said the same earlier this month. SEC football is in a bad state- everyone looks so gd sloppy all the time. 15 years ago even our shittiest teams were capable of coming out and executing a basic system.

It reminds me a lot of when one-and-dones first started in CBB, around the same time that experienced, smarter teams started regularly making deep runs while the teams who relied on 1&Ds were either unbeatable (until the pressure hit) or terrible.

No, he's right. We are looking at teams no longer able to hoard the talent to be 3 deep.

It's compounded by the transfer portal. Players sitting out and transferring.

Here's the whole picture. The SEC is taking the top talent and that puts them the first casualty of transfer due to the money those players will collect by doing so. OR the head to the NFL. BUT the teams like Illinois, all of their starters pretty much will stick through the bowl games.

The results, the first string players play thin SEC teams who has many sitting out.

UT had 5 that did not play that will attempt the NFL. They had another 6 in the portal.

It’s just fans that know their teams have been inferior for a couple decades. Like congrats Houston you beat a mediocre LSU team with half of the actually good players out.

We need collective bargaining with contracts to combat opt outs.

exactly! perception is reality...and the reality is the middle of the pack SEC teams all shite the bed.

LSU kinda has an excuse...they rolled into it lame duck and did what they've done all year.

The Mizz and UT thats pathetic. Both teams have been in the top half of the sec for 4 years now....no excuse.

If conference supremacy is so important to TV deals and playoff

TV deals have nothing to do with “conference supremacy” and everything to do with how many eyeballs are watching the game.

Missouri was ranked for 8 weeks. They didn’t beat a team over .500 all year

Tennessee was ranked the entire season, other than might East Tennessee State University, they didn’t beat a team over .500 all year either

These teams were used as cannon fodder to prop up other teams (Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, A&M).

The game has charged. It isn’t 10-15
years ago. The SEC isn’t some gauntlet that you think it is. It’s got some good teams (arguably none to Ohio State’s level) and a ton of overrated, mediocre teams.

The SEC had 5 teams make the playoffs, meaning the top10 is 50% SEC teams since #11 and #12 were AQ teams.

Other than this forum and 2 or 3 UGA forums, I ignore what social media says, writes, thinks, etc.

I been wanting to start all morning.....gotta pace myself.

I am a bit disappointed in the SEC so far, but how many threads say something like - Fuk the SEC I pull for MY team and hope (insert any team especially Tennessee) loses every damn game?

Personally I pull for every SEC team when they play outside the conference.

Alabama had a great opportunity to send Saban out with a championship with Michigan. We let it slip away.

We have a lot of very talented brotha's who enjoy the NIL bling and flashing $$, while these corn-fed, homegrown white boys are strong as plow mules.

Literally no one cares about any post season game that isn’t the playoffs.
