We’re playing for March at this point, which means trying to keep people healthy. He won’t play in the NCAAT, but have to play him in regular season regardless if it costs us a game at some point.
Honestly, I don’t really want a 4 or 5 seed given the 1 seeds this year. We aren’t likely to beat Mich or AZ (or FL or prob Purdue, but they won’t be 1 seeds). I’d rather have a 3 seed or 6 seed, than a 4/5. But 6 seed means we’d have to lose some games we shouldn’t, and 3 seed means we’d probably have to win out in the regular season and make some noise in the SECT.

When the most successful program in our conference in the last 20ish years has to double their 3 NCs in the coming 2 decades just to be in the conversation of potentially being considered a 2nd SEC blue blood, you know the “KY isn’t a blue blood” statements are pure intellectually dishonest trolling.
Note: FL still wouldn’t be IMO, but they’d be close if they won 3 more in 2 decades

Nate Oats always makes excuses when Bama loses. Every. Time. frick him.
Imagine taking what a coach said prior to a game, where he’s trying to impact refereeing, and using it as an example of him “making excuses for a loss” despite him saying that his team got embarrassed after the game and not making any excuses for it. Imagine being that “confused” in life.

Several spurts of sloppy basketball tonight, but decent enough win against a team trying to play physical prison ball.
We’ve got to cut down on turnovers when people are bodying us. That, and practice FTs for about 5 hours everyday.

It was a Wednesday road game. Some of us ticket holders aren’t heathens
Really slow start, but I’ll never be disappointed with a 19 point SEC road win. Nice job by the team getting it going in the 2nd half.

Really? It’s a toughness thing and trying to send a message. Same reason shot blockers purposefully goaltend when someone shoots after the whistle and it isn’t a continuation situation.

Our defense is so, so bad

That has nothing to do with the 2025 Seahawks offensive performance that is lukewarm in all frank analysis.
The OP had 2 season-long data points listed, one from college and one from the NFL. You took issue with the NFL data point, but seemed to couch it in a way as it was the only data point being used to question our OC. It wasn’t the only data point.
We’re obviously limited in data or it would be obvious to most people if Grubb is an issue or not. I, for one, am not willing to say Grubb’s offenses prior to the Seahawks are definitive proof he’s a good OC. The P12 didn’t have near the defensive talent or defensive coaches as the SEC or NFL. If you have NFL talent on offense but play in a weak defensive conference, you’re going to look like a genius. The last 2 seasons of data points are not instilling confidence that Grubb can hang with the best defensive minds. That said, hopefully it was just 2 seasons of different things beyond his immediate control (QB at Seattle, OL coach at Bama). Time will tell

However it is a bit dodgy to make broad pronouncements about Grubb based off what Klint Kubiak did in Seattle.
I think Bama’s worst rushing offense in half a century kind of disproves your “dodgy broad pronouncements” based on 1 data point from NFL theory.

The question had been discussed before, although last night was the final data point of information pertinent to the discussion we’ll get this season.
I stayed somewhat neutral on previous discussions (or stayed out of it) as I hadn’t watched a lot of Seattle this year, but watching them last night coupled with all the previous discussions has me concerned.

For those saying it was all Seattle’s defense (which they were obviously very good):
Seattle gained ~340 yds offense on the Patriots, which was close to 100yds more than any other team in the postseason (LAC, HOU, DEN). Seattle’s defense was great, but their offense moved the ball on the Patriots’ stout defense. It’s pretty obvious the OC did a good job in Seattle and was part of their success for winning the Super Bowl.
(And according Ystar, would have put up 21 more points if Darnold had seen a few open receivers. If true, that means the OC was clearly doing a great job attacking the Patriots’ defense).
Does anyone really think if Grubb was the OC with all the new players, that Seattle still wins the Super Bowl? I think it’s pretty obvious the answer is no, and that’s a somewhat depressing realization for some of us alumnus.

This entire thread is embarrassing. Just stop. Darnold BTW just missed another wide open deep route and if he had been accurate they would have 21 more points. This game is all about Seattle's defense. They have made this game

Ty averaged 237.8 passing yards a game under grubb, geno averaged 254.1 they may be more equivalent than you think.
Pretty sad attempt at cherry picking stats. Ty had 28 TDs to 5 INTs. Geno had 21 TDs to 15 INTs.
In case you struggle with math, that means Ty had 33% more TD passes than Geno while Geno had 300% more INTs than Ty.

Well, he didn’t have Geno Smith last year at Bama, or the college equivalent of Geno Smith.

I know it’s been discussed some, but they’re literally dominating the Super Bowl the year after firing Grubb for having an atrocious running game, and Bama immediately has our worst running game in nearly 50 years.
I hate that we’re going to be so young at OL and QB, because people are going to absolutely load the box on us if needed to stop the run and force us to pass next year. I won’t be surprised if people are calling for Grubb’s job by November, but hoping he can turn things around.

A&M players were doing high school ball bush league stuff last week in Tuscaloosa. It was absolutely embarrassing and showed Bucky was an insecure high school coach still.
I literally told my family walking out of the arena that A&M better grow up because that stuff won’t fly in this league for long. Completely embarrassing to be pulling high school stunts in an SEC basketball game

UNC hits a buzzer beater to beat Duke. MoD with the game winning O-board on a missed FT against UT. Oats continues his dominance of the entire Pearl family. What a fun day of basketball!!
