Is there any proof he took it, or just last seen in his office?

He’s not disputing that it was last seen at his Gonzales office. He’s also saying it was given to him to display at that office, but that has been refuted. It also wasn’t on the list of government property that he had in his office so that means it shouldn’t have even been there.

So: it’s a big arse board - not something that can simply be misplaced. He agrees it was in the office “when he moved out.” He didn’t notify the state that he had the government property at the location. The property manager says nothing was in there and they aren’t in possession of it.

quote:

Schexnayder said then-Speaker Chuck Kleckley, R-Lake Charles, asked him in 2013 to put the board in his district office because it came from a tree in Ascension Parish. Kleckley, however, doesn’t recall giving it to Schexnayder, saying such a request by him involving a historic state artifact would have been inappropriate.

quote:

“When I turned in the keys, that’s the last I seen it, that’s the last I know,” Schexnayder said Tuesday. “The last I know is the board was in the office when I left.”

quote:

Todd Pevey, who works for St. John Properties and manages leasing at the strip mall for Diez, said in an email that “tenants are responsible for removing all materials and belongings from the premises upon vacating. Neither I, nor any other St. John Properties employee or representative, have removed any of the client’s items from the space nor are we in possession of any items that were ever in the premises.”

quote:

When Schexnayder left office last year, the speaker’s office collected a couple of pieces of state equipment, but Schexnayder exercised his right to buy the laptop, printer and fax he had been using, at a depreciated price, according to state records. The government inventory did not include the board since it hadn’t been officially given to him.

They beat a top 10 Ohio State team in the cotton bowl too. Feels disingenuous to not include that. I'm no Eli fanboy just stating the facts.

They had a ton of opt outs and had to start a qb that had only thrown 22 passes all year.

The bullseye is different than pretty much all other pellet grills. It’s a direct fire grill that was purpose built for grilling. Almost all others the “grill” part is secondary because it’s basically a big oven fueled by wood pellets.

Newer model pellet grills are making changes with their firebox so that you can get more of a flame, but if your main use is grilling then there are better and cheaper options than getting a pellet grill.

By filing a lawsuit against the State of Louisiana, the buyout, should CBK win, will be paid with taxpayer money, not booster money. LSU has two options

There is no mechanism to require the state of Louisiana to pay any judgement against them. The legislature would have to vote to appropriate the money but they aren’t required to vote yes. So the judgement sits in limbo until it can get out before a vote and pass. New Orleans is the same way.

Go look at the backlog of lawsuit payouts the State of Louisiana still owes. Go look at the backlog of lawsuit payouts the city of New Orleans still owes. Even if he wins it would be a long long time before he would get out - if ever.

The lawsuit as many people have said here again and again is all posturing for a settlement. He’s looking for a judgement that LSU did. It fire him with cause so that he has more leverage.

BK sued the Board which is effectively the state. They have to include the state attorney general’s office.

Patient? If he’s hired before the end of the season and we lose a game some idiots on Facebook will be blaming him for the loss.

Second John Marston.

Bonus is he’s young so you don’t have to worry about him retiring in 10 years and have to find another doctor.
Yes.

This lawsuit is positioning. They will get the court order that LSU cannot fire for cause.

Then Bk can comeback to the table with more power in the negotiations. The negotiation will agree to a lump sum (or something like 4 short payments) and will be about $40MM. LSU will remove the offset clause and the requirement to find work.

LSU gets - lower payment
BK gets - lump sum, no offsets, no work requirements.

Isn’t all knitting “3D”? And someone’s grandma can make that in an hour while watching Judge Judy.

They already terminated him for non-performance. It is an idiotic look to now claim he hasn’t been formally terminated but we are terminating him for cause

Yeah I agree. I understand using different tactics in negotiations of the buyout, but this argument is completely idiotic.

Morality clause. That one may be hard to actually get him on though unless he was banging her in the athletic offices/buildings.
What are you wanting to use it for?

If you mostly grill hamburgers and steaks, a pellet grill is not your best option and you are going to be underwhelmed. While you can grill on them, it’s more of a side feature that you can make work vs its actual function. (Although the Recteq FirePro series has bridged the gap some)

Where pellet grills are better is low and slow/smoking. If that’s what you are looking for they are great.

I’ve had a bunch of them. an old Traeger, a RecTec (before they changed to Recteq), a Grilla Grills, even a cheap Zgrill. They all basically work the same, but you are paying differently for build quality, quality parts, etc.

Now I use a Masterbuilt gravity that I like for smoking and just use my Weber performer for grilling. The Masterbuilt gravity is just easy since it uses charcoal and I don’t have. To buy pellets. But it works just like the others.

My kids private school in Baton Rouge doesn’t charge students to go to any games

What school is that? Because I know for a fact PBS and Dunham do. St Michael’s did as of 4 years ago. Hell PBS did when I went there in the 90s.

You may need to look at your fee schedule. There is probably a line item that’s an “athletic fee”. That’s your charge for the year and it allows your student to get into every athletic event on campus. .

That sounds about right with Catholic...

It’s not just Catholic BR. I’m pretty sure all private schools in BR charge their students to go to games. Most have some kind of season pass type thing for their students.

We would be naïve to think that a school would want the police involved.

It really should have been reported twice.

The school had a duty to report it. And her parents should have reported it.

Why wasn’t it reported to the police?

Because the county law enforcement having the data and it being publicly available are the same thing?

Well the judge sure thought so.
quote:

On Thursday, a Skagit County Superior Court judge ruled that pictures taken by Flock cameras in the cities of Sedro-Woolley and Stanwood qualify as public records, and therefore must be released as required by the state’s Public Records Act, court records show.

What’s crazy is the county argued against the FOIA release because it would be an invasion of people’s privacy.

So their argument was that they can invade people’s privacy by recording everyone but can’t let taxpayers see it because it’s an invasion of privacy.
