Sankey was added to the lawsuit in Baton Rouge court after the SEC stated their rules pertaining to all this. You can say it was the players all you want but no one sees it that way. Especially not Sankey. The SEC federal lawsuit came about later.. It was very dumb for LSU to do all this towards Sankey by themselves. They should have had other schools on their side.

LSU wasn't even party to the lawsuit that Sankey had to go to court for last week. That lawsuit was 40+ players from various sports and schools filing suit against the NCAA. The only reason the plaintiffs' attorneys added the SEC and Sankey to the lawsuit was because the SEC threatened LSU with sanctions or expulsion if they added any of these players, regardless of what the judge's ruling was.

That would be massive for the SEC in court filings.
