Yes, but he continued putting himself in harm's way anyway. That's how committed he was to his vision. Going into the lion's den. Unfortunately very rare for young people these days.
I mean technically in the sense that your dollars don't directly pay yourself, but by that definition pretty much all government disbursements would fall under "welfare", including tax credits.

LSU’s endowment is only $664M.

I can guarantee you that not a cent from LSU's endowment has ever gone to football in modern times and never will.

This might be the dumbest post I've seen on this board by the way.
Good news is LSU is very doubtful to win this game anyway.
Recruiting now seems like a waste of time. I used to follow it really closely going back to 2007-2008. Now it's just out in the open and dirty with little suspense or surprises.

Hes also not allowed to talk to them into leaving LSU.

Lol says who? His moral code?

You can't contact players that aren't in the portal, and I'm pretty sure we're in a dead period anyway. Frank has unfettered access to our whole roster right now and can do whatever he wants.

How big of a loss is Frank Wilson, present day?

Short term pain for long term gain. He's a terrible RB coach and was a terrible interim coach.

I think the guy is a great coach

Hey Cortez, you're bad, actually awful, at evaluating and developing talent. I've seen more bad routes, drops, and false starts from receivers under you than any other time in recent history.

What’s the worst can happen if he coaches?

Another 2 weeks to convince LSU players and recruits to join him in Oxford? Carius Curne's jump in the portal seems directly tied to Frank going to Ole Miss. That's his rumored landing spot.

If it’s a big pay cut then I can’t blame him for leaving and can’t say he doesn’t love LSU and the state.

This is not about money or being an on-field coach. It's 100% about his pride and not wanting to appear to be demoted to an off-field position. I think LSU would have (over)paid him a handsome salary regardless just to keep the New Orleans ties.

Promoting him to interim was a terrible idea by Woodward. Like literally there was no benefit to it. We got worse after he took over and he's going to leave anyway.
Running off your starting quarterback the first few weeks on the job is a choice

He doesn't want to leave but is going to our yearly rival out of pride and probably taking players with him.
Remember the bama fans saying he was better than Burrow? Pepperidge farm remembers.
There's two players on this roster that can't really be replaced and that's Pickett and Green. It's not a coincidence those two were given the Nike NIL deals. Anyone else follows him and we're fine.

Rotations” has become my favorite TD talking point

Frank and Cortez had a knack for making the wrong subs at the wrong time
If they're looking for a buddy coach who doesn't hold his WR accountable for drops and has poor rotations, they hired the right guy.

Guess all the Facebook moms talking about how he loved LSU and would never do anything to hurt the program are proven full of shite (again)
