I warned this board for at least two to three years that if buying players became legal, and Texas could get its shite together they could easily outbid everyone else in the country and would become a problem.
Depending on price of oil they have the largest or second largest endowment of any college (next to Harvard) and 1000s upon 1000s of alumni worth over 100 million.
The Faggies aren’t even in the same league despite their 30 million dollar class.
They can buy LSU, bama and Georgia and have change left over.
You see them involved in nearly every top portal deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just act like a car dealership and say we will not be overbid, just come see us last we will honor any Legitimate offer plus 20%.
They be rich mfers boys, I have seen it first hand.
Since the NCAA has been zero help we are eventually going to need a salary cap or something or this shite is going to get way out of hand and these kids are going to have better deals than NFL players.

Let them recruit players.
The teams that actually have recent hardware put together teams.

They will get a wakeup call when they run the gauntlet of the sec schedule.
They have Michigan as a out of conference, and actually lucked out on the sec schedule for next year. Only real challenge is OU and UGA from the sec.
OU has Tenn, OM, BAMA, TEXAS, LSU. All should be ranked, throw in Auburn coming after the Texas game and before the LSU game they will be limping to the finish line.

Aside from Bama, Georgia, and sometimes LSU....the rest of the SEC is overrated and ride their coattails of success.

I wouldn’t get too worked up. Money is definitely there. But, college football’s way further down the list of priorities at UT than other top-tier SEC programs.

Texas plays Arkansas next year too. You failed to mention that one.

They would’ve won the SEC this year

No, he mentioned we lucked out with our SEC schedule next year.

Texas should be a legitimate contender every year, regardless of conference affiliation. It's hilarious that they aren't.

Yeah he said "real challenge" not an easy win.

This. If this logic were true they should have been running the table in the Big 12 for years right? They have four Big 12 championships since 1996.
Alabama has had 10 conference championships in that same time frame.

You walked into that one: Arkansas is 5-2 vs y’all since we’ve joined the SEC and has won the last two. And if you want to trod out the record before then your Aggy brethren would tell you that the only thing that matters is “recent history” and what you do as a member of the SEC.

All Texas needed was the coach and they have that with Sark. Everything else was in place.

My guess is they win some big games but also unexpectedly lose to Kentucky or Arkansas every year and miss the championship like they do in their current conference.

This board’s love affair with Texas is quite comical. Aside from this year they haven’t really contended for anything in quite some time. Yes they used to be really good but so was Tennessee, Florida, etc., and the list goes on and on. People were not that high on Sark who had some issues not all that long ago. Why don’t we see how they perform within the SEC before we say they are back and start crowning them as among the elites.
