Probably collateral damage from NIL. We think of its impact mostly on players and programs but it looks like it will take a toll on coaches, too. With players who can leave at the drop of a hat if you are a coach in a relatively good position why would you want to leave and tackle the unknown when...

You’re off on this. Less safe is not a lesser charge under GA 40-6-391, the dui statute. There are multiple ways the statute can be violated with less safe being but one of the ways it can be violated.
