They could do worse than Elko.

There's no way he wants to step into the shite in Kansas.

The past decade ... when were they ever good? Best of luck to whoever takes that job. That place is a coaching graveyard.

Their last few Mangino teams were pretty good

I would like to see Monken go somewhere. Not Kansas but that might be the only program that would hire someone with his offensive style.

Well they were really good 1 year in 2007 when they went 12-1, then had just 2 winning seasons beyond that in 2005 and 2008 going 7-5 and 8-5 respectively.

While 12-1 was a monumental accomplishment for Kansas and still is honestly, their schedule was a total joke that season:

8-6 Central Michigan
FCS Southeastern LA
5-7 Toledo
1-11 FIU
5-7 Kansas State
3-9 Baylor
6-7 Colorado
7-6 Texas A&M
5-7 Nebraska
7-6 Oklahoma State
3-9 Iowa State
12-2 Missouri (their only loss)
11-3 VT in bowl game - won this one 24-21 so impressive there to at least somewhat validate that season

Source: Texas A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko, who has been one of the top candidates for the Kansas head coaching job, plans to remain at Texas A&M.

Big for Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M. Led by Elko, A&M had the top ranked defense in the SEC last season.

Not exactly shocking. The A&M DC job is better than the KU HC job.

Hope not . . . most everyone was saying that about Joe Brady and LSU. As soon as he left, LSU collapsed.

Would be morons to take the Kansas job. It’s as much of a dead end job as there is.

I don't care who told who no. The important thing is that Elko is here this Fall to help ease the offensive transition

Elko already made a statement about Kansas. They will have to go elsewhere, which makes sense because we know the man isn't stupid

This is a critical year for Texas A&M to continue to improve their worthiness and challenge Alabama for the West division this fall.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not, but it is definitely true. A&M needs to follow up last year with another strong campaign this Fall.

What does that say about your dog shite program then? Last time I checked we haven’t needed Joe Brady to beat y’all in 95% of our games since 2000
