re: Saints to sign DE Chase Young, per Rap
Probably because he’s 31, had 4.5 sacks last year, and 3 before that? He’s close to done.

Was just using barrett as an example of a proven vet. He was coming off an Achilles too....
Davis and Kelly seem to like recruiting complete Olines each class.

You have to in this day and age. Especially if you are recruiting like this.
4 players off the line will be going to the pros after this yr....
how’d that work out for Baun the last 3 years? We don’t value standup pure rush OLB’s that can’t cover
Young is 24 and has potential. As pointed out, Barrett probably has already hit the cliff and will be grossly overpaid this season.
Isn’t that the biggest argument around here is that ...
He has the potential to be, of course. Shaq Barrett doesn’t even fit what we do here and he’s terrible in coverage
Willie Gay is a much better option for this team
Barrett would play end and rush downs.
He wouldn't be off the ball ...
If ST got what it wanted we’d have Jameis for $8mm and Roach for $4mm instead of a potential* star DE
I’m glad it worked out this way
I didn't want Jamie's at 8mil.
And I seriously doubt roach is getting 8 mil guaranteed. Young is getting the entire 13.
You say he might be...

A'shawn Robinson would've been a cheapish tackle that shuts down the run
like it. Hope this guy is hungry
2 teams have let him go for not being hungry enough
I honestly would've spent the money elsewhere. Could've gotten 2 players for the 13 mil. Shaq barrett got a deal for around 8 mil.
Could've easily signed barrett and a'shawn Robinson for ...

Would be nice to convince Chris Henry Jr to come back to the boot....
re: Justin fields traded to Pittsburgh?
Posted by Chalkywhite84 on 3/18/24 at 10:22 am
If I remember correctly fields has one of the worst sack rates ever.
He holds the ball to long and takes way to many sacks. If he could fix that he would be a top 15 qb. Just don't think that is something you fix.
Just like cam newton. He is what he is. I do think Arthur Smith is one of the b...
Because that's typically where players trying to resurrect their careers have to go on 1 year deals.
Teams that are in competition for championships typically need players they sign to come in and hit. Teams that are building or rebuilding typically have more leeway on players rebuilding t...

The way people are talking about on here and Twitter make it sound like the saints are signing an elite guy.
I just don't see it. Ther...

I doubt the saints could offer him that role this yr.
To me the niners sold him on being a starter....

It is a really nice signing for 3 mil.
Werner had a terrible year in 2023.
Let them battle it out. Best man wins....

WR - We need some size bad. If we stand pat with all our 5th round picks (unlikely), I'd love to just dart throw 2 or 3 WRs at that point and see if anyone sticks
Underhill said we offered $3mm.
No wonder why he left. What posters said "cap don't matter, doesn't really exist"?
Its not the first time we draft well, develop a player over the years, they get good and then we don't pay them

That is probably very similar to what he is ...
