Probably not going to be a popular take but we were a few small pieces away from being a very solid team this year. The lack of a reliable closer was a huge issue, as were the injuries to the rotation and other guys not stepping up.
Not to mention this was probably the least clutch team I’ve ever witnessed in any sport at LSU, these guys just folded over and over and made enough little league mistakes in key moments to make a 7u Traction team blush. They weren’t ever going to make noise in Omaha but they could’ve easily hosted and won a regional
