Don't worry, PE will make sure to burn it all down and sell the ash at a profit.

Uh oh. Look what PE has done to Vegas. Get ready for $14 hot dogs.

You’re just sad the “LSU is broke” tired line can’t be used anymore. It was false before and if this is true, it’s definitely still false.
Uh... Scooter... If LSU is in talks with PE groups, it means y'all are broke and you're looking for a bailout. Gonna be fun watching y'all get gutted.

The only entities capable of making college sports worse are PE and the federal government.

Listening to the SEC Rant try to audit LSU’s finances hourly is truly something else.
LSU is trying to be proactive, because even your athletic director agrees it’s unsustainable.

LSU... the Red Lobster of college football.

Lane’s going to get fired by some PE finance nerd isn’t he

Feel bad for LSU previous history tells us this will go poorly.

Based on prior instances, if I was the investor/lender, I would demand the media cash comes to me first before going to the school.

According to Ball, the arrangement would provide LSU with more than $100 million in upfront capital in exchange for 10 percent of future media-rights revenue.
Essau’s gambit. Of course these scumbags are the first to pull the trigger.

Has there been any lsu fans to actually not want the demise of cfb? Figured it would be Ohio state or something not them

If this comes to pass it will likely be a group of current LSU donors to essentially buy a 10% share of LSU athletics. It will ultimately be profitable, and it will be such a flex to not just donate to the athletic department but own part of it.
LSU will argue it isn’t private equity, just a group of donors becoming more involved with the program.

Isn’t this simply a bandaid? If they’re operating at an annual 8 figure deficit, $100,000,000 isn’t going to go very far, particularly when you consider that deficit will only be larger with this cutting future media-rights revenue

In three years they can work out another deal for an additional 10% stake.

LSU fans on here will pretend this is a good thing and not going to destroy the conference

Yeah, this is just like the jersey patch discussion last summer.
All of these same things were said and now the rest of you are lining up to sign your patch deal.

Our Athletic Director was a private equity principal before he took this job.
Wonder why he didn't get the Stephens boys to cut Ole Miss a similar deal?
Because he knows better. That's why.
