Now look at the preceding decade and the East owns that.

It’s cyclical. Right now, the West is better. It hasn’t always been that way.

Kirby can't beat Saban or Coach O. That's all you need to know.

Over the past 15 years, these programs have scheduled more FCS opponents than Power 5 opponents:

• Arizona
• Arkansas
• Baylor
• Indiana
• Kansas
• Kansas St
• Minnesota
• Miss. St
• NC St
• Ole Miss
• Oregon St
• Texas A&M
• Texas Tech
• Washington St
• Wisconsin

You can't compare scheduling in 2005 to scheduling in 2015. The approach to scheduling changes over time.

Feels like the SEC West has solidly held the head to head for a while now. I know in the SECCG it’s gone like this (ie total domination):

2009 W
2010 W
2011 W
2012 W
2013 W
2014 W
2015 W
2016 W
2017 E
2018 W
2019 W
2020 W

True. But nearly all of those results are one team - Bama - dominating both the East and West.

The west has 4 teams (3 if you wanna wait to see what aubrun does) that could push for a natty consistently. The east has 2 (1 if you wanna wait on Florida but they usually win 10 games).

If you want "cyclical" that will stand the test of time then we must send the barners to the east and put Mizzou in their proper geographical place. Then pray hard Tennessee stops turning themselves into the NZAA.

Do the ones without Bama involved then.

What? Am I missing someone? I count Bama, LSU, and AU? A&M had a great year no doubt but having one of their all time great seasons last year =/= consistently competing for a natty.

Your definition of "own" is different than mine.

Conference championships were equal.

99 west
00 east
01 west
02 east
03 west
04 west
05 east
06 east
07 west
08 east

they're beginning to recruit at that level that will consistently have them in the conversation. up until now they were caught in the cannibalization of the SECw

Well, I know OM lost two power 5 matchups a few years back when Clemson cancelled a home and home due to the ACC going to 9 conference games. Those slots were filled by FCS teams for OM since it happened too late to find a suitable replacement.

If UT and USCe could get their act together then there might be an argument.

Weird how they are playing both Arizona schools back to back.

Michigan also backed out of a home and home with Arkansas during that stretch.

Also had tOSU and Texas back out of games, while playing games against Texas and USC during their prime. Notre Dame was cancelled this year due to SEC restrictions.

Maybe. But there are plenty of schools that have recruited well and not been able to manifest it on the field.

It's a bold claim for a team that hasn't won its division yet.

In the 21st century (2001 on), the SECW has led the SECE in every football matchup possible, overall. SEC titles, head-to-head, NC's.

I'm looking forward to this. I DESPISE both of those teams. Hopefully we can put the "Notre Dame in the playoff" bullshite narrative to bed early those years.
