This is the last on campus tournament for several years…and I’m guessing the host gets bounced first round. Madison, Alabama for the next four years afterward.

Playing softball on a baseball field (unless they heavily modify it) is stupid. They tried it in Tokyo and it was terrible

Toyota Field in Huntsville will have a dirt infield and a full fence (not flimsy). 4 SEC schools played on this field in February 2025 and sent the feedback back to the league and the rest of the coaches.

Somebody posted a video (I think it was here a week or two ago) of them transforming the field, and it didn't look like a half-arse job. Looked pretty good.
Of course there are gonna be snags, if only minor. I would hope they'd be receptive to more feedback after next year's tournament.

But back to the original topic, I'm planning to watch quite a bit of softball around the league this weekend to see how the tournament seeding shakes out. The SEC looks every bit as stacked as it did last year, perhaps a little more slanted towards offense this year.
A two-round bye still seems like a crazy huge advantage, perhaps more of a reward than is deserved. But 15 teams is a weird number. Gotta do something.
As for this weekend, I'm really looking forward to the OU-A&M matchup since the tournament championship game between the two was cancelled last year. Been waiting to see them go at it ever since.
The weather in College Station looks a lot better overall on the game dates than it did a few days ago. Friday still looks like a rainy mess, but they should be able to get all three games in without much issue, hopefully without having to play on Sunday.

I remember when everyone said the only reason OU was good in softball and gymnastics was because they played in the Big 12. Now here we are first 2 years in the sec and about have conference titles in both sports their first 2 years.

Kentucky baseball hosts Tennessee this weekend.....parking is going to be at a premium it seems. I'm going Saturday. Any of y'all coming for the softball tournament, I'd say plan on parking at Commonwealth Stadium and walking to the softball field. Any one want to meet up for a beer at the UK-UT baseball game just holler.

Yeah, Friday softball in BCS and Austin looks like a rain out. Seeing 100% rain for entire day Friday. Saturday looks perfect as front moves through overnight. Highs mid 70s, full sun for Saturday.
And baseball.
And baseball.

OU softball has certainly been in tighter games and taken more lumps in the SEC than Big 12, but congrats on closing in on the regular season title for the 2nd year in a row.

Grits, Kentucky is usually competitve in softball, but not this year. They actually won their 1st SEC game but have since lost 23 in a row.

It's been a fun season so far. Watching Kendall Wells, but also Taylor Schmaker at Florida. Schmaker is probably the best overall hitter in the game right now. Katie Stewart at Texas has been great. Kavan has been such a workhorse for Texas this year. I really admire that young lady.

7. Arkansas 13-8 at Texas
We are one of the best teams in the country... which puts us middle of the pack in the SEC. We have a silly amount of talent in this conference.

We need to sweep and hope A&M takes the series from OU. That Tennessee series hurt our chances for the regular season crown.

Not true.

This Bama team has been incredibly frustrating to watch all year.
All the Murph defenders want to point to the record and offensive numbers to show he's changed his philosophies, but he still does inexplicably dumb shite almost every game (sticking with players who have no business starting, substituting at bizarre times, having our best hitters bunt people over, etc.).
WHY THE frick CAN'T ANYONE ON THIS TEAM HIT A CHANGEUP!?
After last weekend I may have to take this weekend off from watching

We had a 4 years in a row natty run prior to SEC. Last year was year 1 after the last of them left. Been reloading and were still in the hunt late last season playoffs but lost. This year is also reloaded with some great freshmen.
Our biggest weakness is pitching. To start this year our pitching coach Rocha was out getting cancer treatments. And our pitching suffered. She came back around 6 weeks ago and its improved. Not sure if we have the pitching to win it all but everything else is in place.

Felt good. The Tide arent off to a great start against the Vols in 2026. Lets hope it continues into the fall
