Well done, Alabama.
My nerves are about shot after the first two OU-A&M games. Need a nice, normal, peaceful, 5-inning, run-rule win for the third, 2 hours or less, if it's not too much to ask.

Bama took 2 of 3 from Texas in Ttown earlier this season. It’s time A&M returns the favor…can’t let the newbies dominate the conference trophies.
Unfortunately, A&M came into today thinking they had an outside chance of a trophy, so not sure how much fight they’ll have left in them in game 3.

If nothing else, the front-runners have all made it exciting down to the very last day of the season. I'm glad to see Bama back where they belong.
And I know A&M was pretty damn good at softball back in the 80s. Ford has brought them a long way in a hurry to get them back too.
Now we can all pick each other off in the NCAA tournament.

I remember when everyone said the only reason OU was good in softball and gymnastics was because they played in the Big 12

WCWS gets better ratings than the WCS. Not by much, but better.

Alabama did what they could. It looks like OU is going to do what they have to.

I'm not gonna count any chickens just yet. Ags have the power to make it interesting at any time.

The answer so far is not a lot. They gave all they had in the first 2 and just couldn’t rebound quickly enough (only had about 45 minutes) to be ready for game 3.
Maybe if game 3 was tomorrow and OU celebrated the championship tonight, it potentially could have been different.
Nicely done OU…continued impressive domination

Oh okay, you mean the whole tournament? The finals are still dominated by the men by a good amount, when everyone tunes in to watch the championship games.
CWS also averages about 350,000 fans a year versus 119,000 WCWS. Which is significantly more than the TV difference and a lot more revenue generated.

They both sell out, but sure, the men's stadium is nearly twice the size of the women's.
Yeah, the women consistently draw better TV ratings for the entire tournament, and sometimes, but not always, for the finals.
The women get around 100k more viewers per game on average. That was 15 games last year, so total attendance doesn't come close to making up the difference for the men.

Congrats OU fans.
It is amazing how civil this thread stayed without… well I don’t want to summon them so I won’t say their name.

Hitting a HR that clears the bases almost always ends the game in a loss. Better to get runners on and keep momentum until the tying run is at the plate. The HR prior to the tie is such a momentum killer

Thanks. It has been a very pleasant, easy-going thread. The WCWS threads last year were similarly well cordial. Hoping for more of the same going forward.
Welp, it ain't over yet. 4 runs for A&M just like that. Only one out.
6-4 now.

Never fails. Let’s the current pitcher or new pitcher just reset like it’s a clean inning.
Nicely done OU…props to A&M to try to make it close in the 7th. Too little too late
