So what's the SECs plan for finishing last night's OU is A&M game? Stupid to start the game that.late knowing weather was coming in. OU up 5-3 in the 6th with Kendall Wells coming to bat i the 7th. Looks like rain all day today a d I doubt they play on Sunday with the tourney starting Tuesday.

Well they got five innings complete, so they could call the game, there is nothing being played in SE Texas today, I'm not sure they want to play two games and an extra 2 innings on Saturday unless the Florida and Alabama games force them to.

Tennessee started the season, before conference play, 26-0 including wins over Jordy Bahl and Nebraska, Oregon, 11-0 over Ucla, and 9-1 over Florida State then hit a brick wall once confrence play started.
The talent level is insane here.

Last I heard: They were going to meet at 9am today and talk about how to proceed. I haven't seen anything resulting from that meeting yet.
When they game started last night, they were expecting clear skies until about midnight, so around 4 hours to play the game. They clearly got surprised well before that.
Radar looks like it might clear out for a while after 12:30 today...for about 90 minutes at most. It might be enough to finish last night's game, but I don't know that they'd try in that small of a window.
I also don't know anything about that field, like how soaked it got or how quickly it can dry out. They did seem to get the tarp on the infield pretty quickly last night.
I personally doubt they play at all today, but tomorrow and Sunday still look nice going by every weather prediction I've found this morning.

OU is much better than last years team. Nobody is beating them in their backyard
Tech and Texas aren’t nearly as good

Well, my prediction was wrong. They're planning on resuming last night's game at 12:50pm today.
If current radar holds, I doubt they'll get a chance to start Game 2 after that. Likely a double tomorrow, but no official word just yet.

Murph FINALLY making a change to our lineup by putting Hubbard at 3B. However, he still refuses to start LoJo in LF and move Vandagriff back to CF.

I don't know how we can be that bad in Softball.

I can't believe how much we've regressed at the plate.

Well that half inning just now shows exactly what I'm talking about.
-Runners on first and second, no outs.
-Failed bunt attempt in which the batter pops out. Runners on first and second, one out.
-Batter walks. Bases loaded, one out.
-Batter hits a soft grounder to third, USCe gets the force at home. Bases loaded, two outs.
-Batter strikes out looking.
No runs scored.
The Bama offense in a nutshell.

Disaster. Resuming last nights game
B6 OU up 5-3. 2 outs Atm has runner on 3rd
OU relieves their best pitcher - big mistake
Atm goes up 8-5. Total meltdown by OU. As I said our pitching is suspect but taking out your best pitcher with 2 outs and 2 run lead was a bad move. All coaches make mistakes even the great ones.
Final: Atm wins 8-5

And THAT'S why you let Vandagriff swing instead of always sac bunting!

That was the most ridiculously horrible bit of softball I can ever remember OU playing...by a lot. Just crazy awful. Stupid. Atrocious.
So dumb.
But one could say equally great play by A&M.
And on top of all that shite, the stats page crashed early on, so I'm not even sure what exactly happened and who did what.
Congrats to A&M on the massive comeback with only one out left in the inning.
And just one more thing: Enough with trying to get Pickering out of her slump. She's hitting well under .100 for the last few weeks. We have plenty of hitters, and she's not even that good of a fielder. Get her out of there.

I don’t know much about softball pitchers. Could yesterday’s starter been able to pitch today without issue?
I’m sitting in OKC- I was supposed to be back in cypress about an hour ago but the weather is apparently shitty in Houston. I’d be shocked if there are any games tonight.

For some reason Patty Gasso thought it would be good to pitch Sydney Berzon who is easily our worst pitcher on staff in one of the most crucial games to date ….. good call. OU just needs to win one of last two if we get to play . Maybe we just need to accept the fact she’s not a good pitcher this year and work with her in offseason .

Rain delays have always been OU’s kryptonite.
Cost them a national championship against Bama in 2012.

Another extremely ugly win by Bama.

Usually, yes. A lot of teams will ride their only good pitcher for the vast majority of the postseason. Getting tired or injured from overpitching is much less of an issue in softball, though they certainly can and do get worn out.

I don't think Berzon has any eligibility left after this season.
About midway or so through the season, maybe about the time Jen Rocha came back, Berzon was looking like she was coming around and starting to look like the All-American she was at LSU. But it was brief before she was back to crap.
