As long as they are highly ranked in your major, very little matters. Unless you can say I am a Grad of Harvard, Yale, MIT, Oxford it does not matter much what they rank all around. It matters where they rank in your field to employers I would think.

I majored in Public Relations 87-91. When I was there it was average. I’m sure it’s improved. The Culverhouse school of business was top notch

We'll find me one then. I live in Birmingham. Every year I have friends tell me their kid couldn't get into Auburn but got into Bama. Never the other way around.
It's like comparing Georgia and Georgia Southern. Can you prove that Georgia Southern ever rejected a kid that got into Georgia. No you can't. But you also just know it's never happened. Same deal here.
If a kid gets rejected by Bama they for sure get rejected by Auburn.

I had loads of Accounting Major friends at Auburn. One is a parter at PwC in Atlanta. One is a partner at EY Charlotte. Another a partner at EY Dallas. Two are partners at EY Birmingham. And those are just the ones that didn't leave a big 4 firm to go be a CFO someplace.
It always baffles me when bama people want to pretend their business school is superior to Auburn's. There's a reason why the average Auburn grad makes more money than the average Bama grad.

Incorrect. It was indeed a federal constitutional issue that was decided. The case was the Ayers case and was litigated in the US District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. Awful decision but it is true that a federal decree mandated equal admission standards in state schools in Mississippi (like Ole Miss, Alcorn State, Miss St and Jackson State) based on claims of unequal public funding (which is the case with virtually all public universities in terms of funding). All are different in some way and contribute in different ways to students where they exist. Don’t go to UT to be a veterinarian. That would be something aTm is better for.
