100% not true. I grew up in Lousiana and its mostly ACT, but Texas and other states rely much more on SAT.
My daughter is a senior and her and all of her friends have only done SAT.

I would have thought that A&M would have been ahead of UGA.
UGAs a great school but when my son was looking at engineering programs, the UGA program is actually ranked pretty low (behind Auburn in the SEC which actually has a pretty decent program)
Given that Engineering students usually have higher SAT's, I would have expected A&M to be higher.

Huh? No. Not really. For example OU is ranked higher than LSU in US News School Academic rankings. That's not accurate by academic rankings of universities.

OU accepts the SAT... but hardly any Oklahoma HS students take it. They take the ACT.
SAT results are likely mostly coming from Texas students who end up at OU because Texas is an SAT state.
Yeah I enrolled at OU in 1999. I took both the ACT and SAT. Even then the advisors at my high school were telling me to only take the ACT if you're looking at in state schools and take both the ACT and SAT if you intend to apply out of state. SAT isn't considered much at OU or OSU for that matter. They're pretty much focused on ACT scores. I know people that scored low on the SAT because they didn't care as much as they did scoring well on the ACT. People I knew at OU scored in the 30's on the ACT took the SAT and scored 900's to 1100's. They knew it didn't matter to OU as much as the ACT did. So they simply didn't care. If they intended to go in-state to OU, that's all they cared about.

You were always wrong. Auburn consistently ranks higher than Bama. Their recent push for higher enrollment numbers have hurt them more than many realize.
