At this point in his life, he appears to be a better putter than driver.

I took taekwondo as an adult and thought hey, we're learning a few Korean words lets look at Korean 101 on Youtube. Yeah right, that was insane. I basically gave up after the second lesson.

 this was the early 2000's. I don't think either school was particularly hard to get into at the time. I'm know auburn has that distinction now, but again, this was over 20 years ago.
ETA: I'm not sure how much it weighed into the decision but Tubbs going from Ole Miss to Auburn played in to some degree.

Raised by Miss St alums and grew up a Miss St fan. Family moved to Alabama when I was young and couldn't justify out of state tuition to go to State so I went to Alabama. The obvious move would have been to go to Auburn but just could not bring myself to do so.

re: As a man, do you cry?

not often but if I feel them coming out, i'm just going to go ahead and let them all out. no need to bottle them up. admittedly, my emotional highs are high and my lows are low. It had been a while, but I cried when I held out daughter for the first time 7 months ago. Randomly started crying last month watching her in the camera we have in the car. Sitting at a redlight and just watching her thinking about how much shes already grown started pulling the ole heart strings.

My grandpappy used to always say to wait until Good Friday/Easter weekend. Always assumed it was some folklore his grandpappy told him but its served me well.
re: Knowing what you know - if you had to choose between an Asian or Mexican
Posted by parrothead on 3/17/26 at 12:02 pm to bluedragon
Long time ago, I took some summer classes at UAB. At the student center there was a group of girls that always hung out there that were Asian of some sort, but not Chinese/Japanese/Korean variety. I know there were some Indians, but I am guessing the others were Persian, Turkish, Lebanese, or something like that. They didn't wear hijabs or anything like that. Anyways, if I'm picking, I'm going non-Muslim east Asian.

Yes, but 95% of my collection are records my parents would have had in the 60s/70s/80s. I do have a few of my favorite bands records if they happen to put out new music.

Of course it’s fricking Richarlson. Might as well start putting a tenner or two on him to score vs Liverpool every single time.

That is the ticketmaster price, before fees, unfortunately. There were a lot of tickets available as of yesterday morning. I have not checked since seeing the prices.

Maybe I'm naive or delusional, but I'm going to have a hard time paying $182 per ticket just to get into the game for preseason in Nashville.

Mrs. Parrothead actually texted me at 9:15 this morning with a screenshot of the announcement he was the new leader, captioned with "how long do you think he's got?" Had to send her this and said I guess not very long.

Congrats! Our daughter (only child) turned 7 months old today. Sometimes it feels like the days are weeks long and the weeks feel like a day. It’s been a wild ride but wouldn’t trade it for anything. Da Da was her first word that she said recently and absolutely melted my heart.
