my mother drives a 2 year old yukon denali and that thing has been in the shop more than my 10 year old subaru outback has the entire time i've had it + the 9 years i had a honda accord before it. 2 years vs 19 years, granted those cars were only ever in the stop twice between the two of them (outside of getting rear ended). I really do like the look of the Sierra, particularly the AT4, but I would not touch a GM product right now.

A lot of folks probably pushed it down the priority list as daily needs are staying expensive. Yeah sure less than Biden but that’s a pretty damn low bar.

The Birmingham metro is turning heavily into Barner country. No idea what the reason why but there has certainly been a swing. Of course that in acedotal but I trust my gut without doing the research. Alabama should be making it a point to educate and train people to go work at and lead in the biggest companies in the biggest metro area.

Don't need to lower the standards, just be more generous with qualifed students and scholarships. They've been going after out of staters because they have higher tuition and greater impact to university income so I get why they do it. In general though, campus and the surrounding areas is busting out of the seams. I really dont know how much longer the university can exponentially grow without a major infastructure haul around Tuscaloosa.

I dont think people really give a shite about trolls and "owning the libs" anymore.

This is not a good look at all. As the capstone university to the state, it needs to be 50%+ in state. Obviously 2011 changed a lot of Tuscaloosa but it has changed so much since I was there 06-10 that it feels like a shell of its former self.

I found a few additional receipts, but there's an important distinction between dedicated prediction threads and individual predictions buried in other threads.

SEC Rant thread

This is the earliest and clearest one I found.

and specifically:

“Ole Miss will lose to LSU, Louisville, UGA, Texas…”

That's an unequivocal pregame LSU-win prediction, made 13 days before the game.

This is another very good one.

The thread was created on Sept. 9, and JimTiger72 responded at 3:24 p.m.:

That's a very clean prediction: LSU by 7+, made 10 days before kickoff.

This isn't a prediction thread, but there are some very explicit LSU-win comments.

NFLSU, Sept. 10 at 7:31 p.m.:

“That’s an expensive arse beating.”

And SlicedBread immediately followed with the joke about the package's:

“Postgame Experience (after A Win ONLY)”

There are multiple similar comments in the thread.

I'd classify this as pregame trash-talk predicting an LSU win, rather than a serious score prediction.

4. “9/19 tailgate seems like a good opportunity for Oxford-area churches” — Sept. 10
SEC Rant thread

This one is weaker as a “receipt.” It's mostly joking about the upcoming game, and posters acknowledge that either team could win.

I wouldn't put it in the main list of actual predictions, but it's another Sept. 10 LSU–Ole Miss pregame thread worth preserving if you're doing a comprehensive archive.

This appears to have been on the Tiger Rant rather than SEC Rant, so I would not count it toward your SEC Rant list.

However, the discussion is interesting: Art Vandelay argued that Ole Miss's offense would struggle because of the coaching changes and lack of RB depth.

I searched considerably farther back, but I didn't find a clean SEC Rant thread from Sept. 1–5 containing an explicit LSU-over-Ole Miss prediction.

There were plenty of LSU/Ole Miss discussions during that period, but most were about:

LSU's legal/SEC situation

Lane Kiffin

the coaching-staff changes

Ole Miss's roster

LSU's Week 1 matchup with Clemson

the upcoming schedule

For example, “For those of you disguising yourselves as champions for amateurism in college athletics...” was posted Sept. 4 and discussed the two teams' NIL situations, but it isn't a game-prediction thread.

If we're being strict and only counting SEC Rant posts/threads that actually predicted LSU to win before Sept. 14, I'd currently put these at the top:

There's also a useful wrinkle: the SEC Rant search results show that prediction activity ramps up substantially on Sept. 14–15, including the dedicated prediction threads we found previously. For example, the Sept. 15 thread contains BenjyCompson's LSU-by-10 prediction and Drebin's LSU-by-10+ prediction.

If you're building a “who had LSU before kickoff?” receipt sheet, I'd separate it into Sept. 1–13, Sept. 14, and Sept. 15–18, because that lets you distinguish genuinely early predictions from people picking LSU after the matchup had become the dominant topic.
