Of course they were, why do you think Lane has been pushing the envelope

I sure hear about that Kentucky game much more than Lane being Ole Miss’ best coach in decades

Serious question for non-insane LSU fans. Do you really care about this? With the team that is already in place, you already have a top roster and a good coaching staff, is it really worth it to go against public opinion, the rest of the SEC and the commissioner for your backup tight end and a depth piece on the defensive line that probably won't play for a couple months? And again, these aren't your guys you're hoping to get back who have been part of your program, one is someone who publicly blasted your coach. Again, I know there are some nutjobs on here who will defend whatever LSU and Kiffin do even if it cost them their jobs and family, but for the normal casual fan, don't you just think it's easier if the SEC says no it's not allowed and you move on to focusing on Clemson?

I’ll be completely honest. I don’t care at all, if kiffin didn’t try it another coach would. His job is to help LSU win football games.
If the SEC says no that’s fine. We’ll be where we were a week ago. Not concerned either way, but the whining has been hysterical.

Most notably 2024 Kentucky
You had a lead with under 3 minutes in the 4th and your current HC's defense gave up a 6 play 83 yard drive.
Very similar to the LSU game. You had a 7 point lead going into LSU's last drive and Pete gave up a 13 play 74 yard drive. Then after going up 3 in OT gave up a TD on the first play.

Personally I don’t care about this. I really liked this team before the two players trying to join the roster. I also think if we’re trying to fix college athletics a lot of players currently on rosters should be ruled ineligible. Take the starting quarterback at Ole Miss for example

I will answer this truthfully when someone can truthfully explain why everyone here is clutching their pearls and acting like LSU is the only one doing this.
-Texas brought back Cole Hutson, he went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and participated in rookie minicamps with both the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys. A judge granted a temporary restraining order (TRO), paving the way for him to terminate his pro pursuit and rejoin head coach Steve Sarkisian's squad as a fifth-year senior for the 2026 season.
-Kentucky brought back former Wildcat linebacker Alex Afari Jr.. After going undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft, Afari attended the Green Bay Packers rookie minicamp. He rejoined the Wildcats for fall camp under a temporary ruling.
-Kentucky head coach Will Stein has also been heavily recruiting former UCLA and SMU running back T.J. Harden. Harden recently spent time with the Seattle Seahawks.
-South Carolina officially signed former Appalachian State cornerback Ethan Johnson. Johnson went undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft. He was one of the core 16 football players who filed and won the temporary restraining order (TRO) in a Louisiana court.
-Florida: Mentioned by prominent college football analysts as a team actively looking at entering the market for defensive edge rushers or depth pieces returning from pro tryouts
-Georgia: Rumored as a potential landing spot for veteran backs like T.J. Harden (the former UCLA/SMU running back waived by the Seahawks) to reinforce a backfield dealing with early injuries

It's because LSU is doing it better.

Your big brother was the first one to do it. Lane is just following what Sark started.

Good. Make a rule that is consistent across all situations for this and applied consistently to all schools.
FTR, Kiffin has said he wants rules in place, but in the interim, why would he not use the ambiguity to LSU’s favor.
Bunch of pearl clutching nimrods on this board.
