The drawback there is they could leverage people into paying for ESPN+.

It's $50 a year. If they have all the SEC games and quit doing black outs like they do with the ACCN and Longhorn Network, it is worth it. Maybe they will put more money into the servers while they are at it.

For being the biggest network, Disney/ABC/ESPN has the most problems compared to the other streamers.

I want NBC, and its not even close.

They have by far the best football production in the NFL, and Tirico is the bomb. He has done a couple ND games, would love him on our calls. Just hire a quality color guy like Blackledge to go with him.

ETA: But to me, any contract should also come with a different schedule. Now that FOX is doing the B1G Noon broadcast, you are basically only competing against the ACC (which will be complete garbage for the foreseeable future) and the Big 12 (which puts their biggest game, UT/OU, at noon every year).... If the SEC schedules out their games properly, they could have the game of the week on primetime every week. What am I missing? Who the frick is gonna watch Clemson/Syracuse over LSU/Auburn or Bama/A&M or whatever it ends up being.

Expect Apple to get in on the picture.

Tim Cook is an Auburn grad and loves SEC football. He's Apple's CEO.

He could offer a massive payday. $1 Billion for the entire package? Hmmm.

p.s. Do streaming services like Disney+ and Apple+ air commercials?

I do like the 2:30 game. Just hope Danielson is long gone by then.

We already have a deal with ESPN and I'm not sure when it runs out.

The point of having a featured game is exclusivity. Whichever window is chosen for that featured game, other networks (perhaps with the exception of SECN, as is the case currently) will not be able to show games. So, would you rather have one (possibly two) game in primetime, and everything else slotted for daylight hours, or have the exclusive window late afternoon, and many games in the evenings?

I know one school that would really pitch a fit if forced to play more day games.

Very true, and very fair.... LSU should publicly recognize it as a tradition and try to get preferential treatment from the SEC

You want a presence on free over-the-air TV to showcase your product.

If streaming services want in spin off a package out of your SEC-N inventory.

Sunday Night Football is the best football broadcast out there.

I agree with that, but IMHO it’s because of Al Michaels and not that douche Cris Collinsworth

LSU played its 315th night game vs A&M.

It should be tradition. We were the first (1931) and we've had more night games than any other school. We even did it before baseball (1935).
