Then let ESPN/ABC buy it. They know how to produce games and not completely frick up the in stadium experience.

The SEC is going to sell to CBS, Fox, and ABC/ESPN in 2023.

Fox just doesn't do a very good job with college games. At least in my opinion. I would HATE to see the SEC move there.

I would love Gus and Klatt. Klatt actually thinks thru his opinions. I love when he's on the Herd. He doesn't let Cowherd get away with his low thought process.

Like when he said Burrow wasn't near as good as Tua. and Joel was like
JK: "Tua's production drops against good competition."
CC: "It should. Its better competition."
JK: "Then why does Burrow's production get better?"

The NFL games on CBS are also better than Fox.

I’m fine with that. Three prime time slots means more money for everyone that doesn’t have a number in their conference name.

I think it’s because they are relatively new to this arena.

Eh, that's true.

Fox should stick to professional Wrestling, Nascar and baseball.

If they stay with CBS, they need to have 2 to 3 time slots every saturday. Either back out or go all in.

Which is literally why I said let ESPN/ABC buy it. Much better product and much better digital footprint.

Doubtful, NBC is probably just happy with the Notre Dame games

The SEC is the only league with a non-league run station that is devoted purely to them outside of Notre Dame. FOX does the B12/P12/B1G. ESPN/ABC does everybody. CBS only does the SEC, and the 330 CBS timeslot is known as the "SEC Game of the Week" every week. No other league really has that.

I like it the way it is.

Poor folks with rabbit ears can still watch.

ComcastNBC is rumored to be one of the networks that wants to get more involved with CFB and has an eye on the SEC

Their production is 2nd to none and digital antenna boys can still pick it up free of charge.

Can also toss overflow games onto the NBCSN as well as SECN. Would be elite

NBC has been hamstrung by ND. They only have one game per week and it always features just one team. While CBS only has one game, it’s the biggest draw for an entire conference.

I could easily see NBC wanting more than just 2 football games per week

he thing with CBS is from what I've read the odds of them putting a competitive bid on the table are slim to none.

I'd be interested to know where you read that, because that's not what I'm seeing. CBS has been telling Wall Street analysts that they are going to get an extension of their deal with the SEC. I know Clay Travis was reporting in the past about how upset the SEC was about CBS's refusal to renegotiate after expansion, but, money talks, and CBS is in a unique position to offer the SEC more money, sooner, if they are smart enough to do it.

Because the CBS contract runs through 2023, only CBS can offer to pay the SEC more for this package before 2024. If CBS is willing to do that, then they've got the inside track on an extension. However, if they decide to play out their current sweetheart deal and bank the profits, the odds of them getting an extension past 2023 are pretty slim, all other things being equal.

Now, there is a caveat to that, in that CBS seems to think that the contract gives them a right to match any offer for 2024 (or something along those lines), while the SEC thinks it does not. We might see some litigation over that, but that would probably be an all or nothing move for CBS, so I doubt it comes to that.

Bottom line: if CBS is willing to pay the SEC the market rate for the remaining years under the current contract, they can lock up an extension. If they don't, it's probably going to be someone else, just to spite CBS.

I like the ESPN production, but my only problem with ESPN is that they schedule the games back-to-back-to-back so you risk missing the kick-off of your game because ACC team is blowing out directional-U and taking too long.

With CBS, you know that the game will start on time every week.

CBS gives you an NFL quality broadcast. You got to make CBS, NBC or Fox bid for your game of the week and require it is of NFL quality.

A lot of the ESPN broadcasts are garbage quality, the only decent one is the ABC Primetime Saturday night.

CBS just has a way of producing the game in a way that makes your team look better then maybe it really is.

Why would they toss overflow games to an ABC owned network?

Ehhh, it's not 1997 anymore though. When it's not on the original channel they always move it to ESPN News or something and it's always streaming on the app. You don't ever have to miss a game on ESPN.
