Pretty late last year if memory serves....the talk then was he could not win a big game and it wasn't unfounded.

You’re correct. It wasn’t unfounded. Some might say losing to Michigan is exactly what the team needed to run through the playoffs. I give Georgia credit where it’s due. They also beat Texas and Tennessee just like OSU did

ask Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska about who playing one team with a pulse a season works out in the Natty column....well maybe not Texas 'cause even with a one game regular season they couldn't manage to win many.....

Who won the championship last year? Seems to be working out just fine for OSU

haha didnt stop me from getting a job in software dev in nyc. Never once seen a state university of ohio alum... only Michigan and ivy league pretty much haha

Yeah those Michigan people are super fun to be around. Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Phoenix have a ton of Buckeye alums. Not more than the state of Ohio though.

Who cares where they're from.

I already posted a link to show that over 20 players on the team are from Ohio, including RB Bo Jackson and two starting Linebackers Reese and Styles. And three offensive linemen. There’s also a few starters not from the southern footprint but places like Indiana and Chicago and Minnesota.

so do all of our southern players just quit being good at football once they cross the mason dixon line or how exactly does it work?

People in here will say that the demographic trend is northerners moving south so this negatively impacts the northern schools when it comes to recruiting. Yet at the same time, they’ll tell you that college football is more popular down there because it’s full of small college towns and they don’t have interest in the pro sports because the north is full of big cities lol. Make that make sense

I was very young when he was here, but I do remember some good teams. Perhaps if I were older, I would be negative.

Well put it to you this way. 9-3 Earle Bruce teams were thought of in a much better light than Cooper’s teams, because unlike Cooper, Earle won a lot of games vs Michigan and did well in bowl games. It’s not a coincidence that after 13 years of Cooper, they won a championship two years later.

And two more after that with two different head coaches.

And still won over 70% of his games with three Big 10 titles in 13 years. Thats a damn high standard right there. Just couldn't beat Michigan.

He sucked against Michigan AND he rarely won bowl games. His two biggest bowl wins were against Arizona State and Texas A&M. He was James Franklin before James Franklin

Name me a starter or an impact player. Please we’ll wait.

Well 3/5 of their starting offensive line and a starting running back named Lamar “Bo” Jackson are from Ohio. Not to mention startingLBs Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese. They are pretty good

They have like one kid on the team from Ohio.

According to this link they have over 20 recruits from the state of Ohio. Stop telling fake news

John Cooper was by far the worst in game coach the Buckeyes have had in a very long time. He was like 0-4 vs teams from the SEC and he had the talent to win those games. Tennessee beat them one year, Alabama beat them one year, Georgia beat them one year and South Carolina beat them. Three of those losses were by a touchdown or less. Only Carolina wasn’t close. lol go figure
Better question is who the hell leaves Arizona to go to school in Indiana?

This one is getting sideways for the Cats. But lots of time left
Last pick. Mr. Irrelevant. Which means the Browns will draft him with the first pick

Then why would he go to Penn State? Ohio State hasn’t had a holding penalty called on them in two years of B1G play. He’d be going from bad to worse

Smith is a stud. And he’s fortunate he’s not on a shitty team. That helps

The SEC will be fine if they get home field in the playoffs. Tennessee will tell you it’s a different atmosphere playing in 10 degree weather.

Our biggest game left is at UW. Lanning bullies Riley.

This isn’t SoCal of the past. Although I give the edge to the Ducks since it’s at home. Washington is paper thin on the lines. If you play like you did against Iowa you win that by two scores. Ducks were physical in that game in tough elements

Sorry, edited to show Eugene

Overall I think the Big Ten has underperformed. Don’t know about the SEC except Bama and A&M look ready for a playoff run. Georgia’s defense isn’t what it was in the past from what I’ve seen but they are dangerous and are well coached.

The Big Ten needs a team like Penn State to be better and also a team like Washington to not shite their pants against a two win Wisconsin. Oregon had a nice win in Iowa City in a torrential storm. OSU hasn’t really been challenged outside of week one and maybe in Washington week 4. Michigan has a terrible offense. USC is better this year up front but so is Oregon. That game in Eugene will be a play in game. OSU can’t beat Michigan so I’m not predicting a win in that game. Michigan still has a decent defense

You want nothing of the sort. You're a Buckeye troll that has no business being on this forum where you are not welcome or wanted. But you're too stupid to figure out that no one really wants you here, so you keep coming back.

But this doesn’t add anything to the OP’s point. How do you feel about on campus playoff games throughout?
