Oh cool - another thread on this
Also - hasn't this already been a conference rule with the gator chomp and the ole miss shark thing?

Did anyone actually read the article?
It's much more fun watching internet tough guys get angry over something trivial. Don't ruin the party now

Then 15 yards for every cowbell. Fair is fair.

Really? If it's in your face taunting, be it the horns down, thumbs down, gator chop, etc it'll be called as taunting. Other times it won't be called.
And like someone pointed out in the other thread about this, it's going to be funny as hell/pathetic watching fans of all SEC teams eventually start doing the horns down when your teams aren't even playing Texas.
We don't give a shite. You do. Make another thread about it.

Texas fans don’t care.
The refs will unlikely care.
We put the horns down on our fricking Jumbotron in 2021 when we boat raced them.
This is much ado about nothing
ETA: Will Sark bitch and moan to get a flag? Of course. That’s his job. I would want my coach to get every single free yard as well.

Tom Herman did that after Will Grier punked his arse in 2018. It was weak as frick and nobody in the fanbase stood behind him. I believe Ehlinger had an incredibly cringe tweet as well that received so much backlash from fans (including Texas fans) that he later deleted it.
College football is supposed to be amateurs (loosely defined nowadays) having fun. Taunting, unless obscenely uncalled for and/or resulting in the game being delayed, shouldn't ever be flagged or penalized.
If you don't want to see taunts, don't let your opponent have success.

There’s a difference between a player giving a signal directly in face of an opponent, as opposed to doing it w/ teammates...
So no different than when we do Ls down to UofL.
That works.

Can we still do the gator chomp to Florida?
As long as Tebow can still do the "Call me" to the student section.
Pure awesomeness.
"It was not planned at all," Tebow said. "When I got to the end zone, and I looked up right in front of the student section and there were like 30,000 people giving me the bird, it was just instinct. Most of them had probably been calling me earlier that week, so it was just a little friendly reminder, saying hey."
Eventual national champ LSU won, 28-24, in a thriller that some would consider the best game of 2007’s regular season.
"What an unbelievable game that was," Tebow said. "Back and forth, and their five fourth down [conversions]. Even though we weren’t able to pull that one out, it’s still a memorable game just because of the environment, how competitive it was, how many great players were on the field that night. That was a very, very fun night to play football."

What about the cowbells?
Players don't ring them on the field.

At some point, we will see a flag thrown for a player (likely from OU, Texas A&M, or Arkansas) doing horns down in the face of an opposing player, in a game not involving Texas. And it will be fricking glorious.

Texas fans do care. They say they don't but will call you classless and disrespectful if you do it. It hurts their feelings like no other

The great thing about it is you only have to find a single upset Texas fan out of a million to prove it's true, right?
Then you can make a blanket statement about an entire fanbase on the rant and everyone who hates Texas laps it up. It truly is wonderful.

Too much discretion for our SEC officials to handle. Watch some idiot cost a team a game.

Did you read the article? Literally nothing has changed. Putting your hand to an opposing player's face to celebrate in any form or fashion has been a penalty in every conference forever.
