He threw an interception, and then started heading towards the returner. And he had that block thrown on him.
It wasn't a penalty because he didn't lead with his head. He lead with his shoulder into Murrays chest, not the crown of his helmet. The helmet contact was incidental.
The same thing happened to Alabama in an Ole Miss game we lost. Nobody cries about it.
Exact same thing, it's the QB's fault for not paying attention.
They changed the rules now, so if it happens again it'll be against the rules. But back then, QB's fault.
When I see these plays, it always reminds me of Unforgiven.
QB should have kept his head on a swivel if he was going to act like he wanted to make a tackle.

You’re either delusional or blind. I understand there was no targeting at the time, but his helmet clearly hits Murray directly in the chin. I don’t even think the shoulder made contact.

His head is up, not down. And he does lead with his shoulder into the chest. Helmets can touch without targeting the helmet.
