Yeah and guess what? That’s exactly what it was for a whole arse decade beforehand. The only reason the SEC had hype and aura moments is because they had an alpha to measure against. Nick Saban constantly having Alabama in the top 2-3 hyper inflated the rankings of the SEC whenever Alabama got upset.
Now that everybody is mid there is nobody to make the rest of the conference look better than they really are.

If Ole Miss fans haven’t found out already, Pete is one of the most incompetent coaches in all of football and was only at Alabama because Nick Saban couldn’t keep coaches. They were asking for guarantees and wondering when he would retire etc.
Imagine having the minister of defense and lining him up as a decoy blitzer or even a NFL DPOY in zone coverage 90% of the time (OH WAIT ONE OF HIS PLAYERS ACTUALLY DID THAT)
Him and Bill O’Brien deserve nothing but failure coming their way at every stop of their careers for what they fumbled with some of the most generational talent in all of football.

Florida wasn’t a powerhouse by any means last season. They didn’t blow up teams in March madness but they did face probably one of the hardest gauntlets to get there, so when they had to face Houston, they were ready.

Dude is gonna go down as one of the greatest cornerbacks to ever live if not the greatest on his current pace. There is not a single receiver in football that has ever had him on skates in the NFL except Davante Adams and that was his rookie year.

What this post doesn’t take into account is the fact that the B1G is incredibly top heavy.
Indiana has 3 teams on their schedule at any given time and can just cruise control on the rest of them. The SEC is more middle heavy and does not have a clear alpha, which makes the conference overall look weaker in post season play.
Put Alabama in the B1G and they look just like Indiana until you get to the post season where they likely get exposed.
