No. I've had a little bit too many after-dinner drinks to answer this in depth but if you had followed soccer over time you would know it has fluctuated over the decades. La Liga and the Serie A have had their times shared at the top. Various reasons including taxes have had in effect on them.
When it comes to European soccer most Americans seem to gravitate to the EPL.

I rented out a room to a vet in the early '90s. He would be wasted holding a bottle every day when I got home from school. He was a nice guy but he was tormented by what he experienced in Vietnam. Particularly one face to face encounter that he had with a North Vietnamese soldier in elephant grass. Wouldn't be surprised if he's passed on by now.
