re: Brent Venables and OU

Great analysis and couldn’t agree more.

OUs future is concerning with Venables, and it’s more concerning on the recent contract extension.

Hoping for changes, but you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

Good news is with Georgia and Texas coming up, we’ll really find out where the future stands.
Although true statement, Texas had no part in this one. LSU brought this on themselves, and for no reason.
100% the SEC will exist 10 years from now, last seasons SEC TV ratings were king of college football. That will continue.

The matchups and out of conference games last season were fun to watch, this season will be no different.

LSU long term vision = Nonexistent

LSUs long term Vision…

Biting the hand that feeds you and poking the bear is not always a good strategy.

LSU and their coach tried to flex, and the SEC called their bluff with an expulsion vote.

Lane Kiffin has what, 10 years of solid coaching, maybe 15? Coaches don’t last long at LSU. Miles (won a Natty) was decent but got canned, Ogeron (won a Natty) also canned.

Is the universities reputation and being in the negative spotlight worth all of this over a player who can’t make an NFL roster?

Is that almighty dollar and advantage over other teams worth it?

Bad optics all around and could definitely backfire. LSU will speak a different tune if that SEC TV contact money were to stop. Interesting times.

OU. With Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Whitten now on the sidelines, I’m excited for what’s to come with the OU offense.

I’d imagine OC Ben Arbuckle will want to step up his play calling, especially with an NFL great now on the sideline. People often step up their game when there’s a new or equally talented person around.

Hoping the play calling improves.

Incorrect, a lot reignited during the Chase Daniel era. Before that, OU fans didn’t care.

LOL at Mizzou….

Missouri leads the coveted Border Series 58-54-9 against Kansas.

That’s right, Missouri lost to Kansas 54 times.

This doesn’t even include basketball. Overall, KU is the better program and it’s not even close.

I can’t stand Texas…

1) Their head coach openly advocates on clearing roster space (cutting players) in order to bring in perceived more talented players.

Similar to last year’s SEC media days, arrogance is the first thought that comes to mind when hearing from Texas.

In contrast, I actually liked Kirby Smart’s comments on developing after high school. Texas seems less about development, more about the money. But hey, let’s get more talent surrounding Manning.

2) I can’t stand Austin. It’s hot, traffic sucks, and trying to maneuver around the UT campus is a nightmare.

3) Have you even stepped foot on UT campus? It’s a nightmare trying to find parking, and I can’t imagine fighting both the parking and the I-35 construction nightmare on a game day.

4) Burnt orange sucks. Can’t stand the clock tower or 40 acres nonsense.

5) When comparing the A&M and UT campus, College Station is a breath of fresh air. Easier to maneuver by far and definitely the flagship university in Texas.
Frick this list.

I prefer Southern states for various reasons, but cost of living and weather are key reasons. There’s good schools and universities all over the south.

I’ve lived all over the US, and I’ll pass on the cold northern and midwestern winters.

I’ll also pass on the rainy climate of the Pacific Northwest.

California is a hard pass due to the cost of living and smog.
Who cares, they had their run with plenty of hardware. Times are changing.
Ohio sucks. Boring terrain, brutal long lasting winters that last 7-8 months, Columbus sucks.

I lived up north for a bit and Ohio is a hard pass for me. Illinois, Indiana, Ohio all the same.
Mizzou should do us all a solid and move to the Big 10 where they belong.

The State of Oklahoma & Championships

Posted by OU_Fan on 6/23/26 at 3:33 pm
This is a great time right now for the state of Oklahoma, the University of Oklahoma, and their recent streak of championships.

Just need Brent and the boys to bring home the trophy this year.

Recent Championship teams:

2026 - OU Baseball, Women's Gymnastics
2025 - OKC Thunder (NBA Champions), Women’s Gymanastics
2024 - Softball coming off the 4-peat

Definitely a great time to be a Sooner.

It feels amazing. It’s been a long time.
Don’t worry SEC fans, I’m looking forward to OU smacking these fools around in Ann Arbor next season in football.
