Do we get extra credit points for being the last team to win the CWS at Rosenblatt Stadium and the first to win at TD Ameritrade?

No, you actually have to subtract points for showing off

I don't have a problem with this. Carolina has had a good baseball program for a long time.

I was just perusing your site and this shite will get you beat up around here.
-The Sooners have been selected as a host site for the
NCAA Regionals on three occasions in 2006, 2009 3 and 2010.
-The stadium’s all-time record for attendance was set 4,544 on May 4, 1995; a 3-2 win over Texas.
-Oklahoma set a series attendance record in 2014 7,269 with 7,269 on hand for a three-game set vs. Texas.
-OU enjoyed a single season record with seven games
of a 2,000 or more capacity, including two games
over the then-listed capacity of 2,700. 2006
-The Sooners won the 2006 Norman Regional over 3,531 Wichita State in front of 3,531 on June 5, 2006.

I would dd some type of boost for hosting a regional or being a top 8.
You can have a fantastic year, finish 2nd in conference, lock up a top 8 seed, and then get bounced in the regional. That season would only net 2 points. Or you could sneak in as a 3 seed and then catch a few breaks and win a regional then get swept out of the super. That would net 6 points.

They also have 10 CWS appearances and 2 national titles, albeit 5 of those were from 1972-1976 and another three from 1992-1995. They do, however, have 37 NCAAT appearances. So while yes their attendance is pretty damn bad, they have a much more respectable baseball history than probably more than half the SEC.

Oklahoma comes out at 218 - so it would be #5, behind Miss St (222) and in front of Arkansas (200).

Tell me about it
LSu was the #8 national seed in 2014 and were bounced in their home regional. And we already discussed Vandy in 2007. However, it doesn't happen all that much and I don't think it would have much of an effect on the rankings. With such a premium on national titles and CWS appearances and the additional points that come with those things, small things like national seeds aren't going to move the needle much. For instance, you give teams credit for national seeds, it's going to benefit the teams at the top more than anything. It's also worth noting there haven't always been "national seeds." They also used to re-seed teams in Omaha, which I wish they would still do now.

7. Alabama (194)
Huh, I would have thought we'd be higher.
CWS Appearances:
LSU - 18
Florida - 12
South Carolina - 11
Miss State - 10
Arkansas - 9
Georgia - 6
Texas A&M - 6
Missouri - 6
Alabama - 5
Well, okay then.
Interesting is that, with this criteria... even if Alabama had won both years they were runner-up, they'd still be #7.

Yea, we had a few of those years too. A lot of those #2 seeds before Super Regionals where we lost in Regional Title games (1995, 1998)
And of course 2002, when we entered the NCAAT as the #3 (51-15) overall seed and lost our regional to FAU.

Yeah and simply hosting a regional shouldn't get points either. Host sites aren't always a reward based on how good your team is. Host sites are largely determined by propensity to sell out and make the NCAA money. It's not as much so as it used to be, but there are still situations where the hosting team isn't the 1 seed in the regional. Happened to Missouri St a few years ago. They were a national seed but Arkansas hosted because their shared minor league stadium wasn't available. LSU hosted a regional every year for like 15+ years because the NCAA knew we'd make them more money. We weren't always the 1 seed in those regionals either.

Host sites used to be bid on. There were only a handful of programs in the whole country who could turn a profit on a Regional weekend, so they got the bids all of the time. Not exactly fair, even though my team benefitted greatly

For a true program ranking, I would probably think something like this. I was at the office earlier and really didn't have a good response.
National Title: 20
National Runner Up: 15
CWS Appearance: 10
Super Regional: 8
Conference Title Post 1970: 6
NCAA Tourney Appearance: 4
Conference Title Pre 1970: 3
Top 10 MLB Draft Picks: 2
50 win seasons: 2
CWS Wins: 2
40 win seasons: 1

There should be more credit given to making regionals before '99 as well.
