When the SunBelt takes LSU, we will have 15 schools. We need a 16th team. Since we have all the Louisiana schools, we should pick an east coast team. East Carolina? Two purple additions.

if LSU were to be removed, you can almost guarantee the SEC is grabbing Miami, FSU, and one more from the ACC to fill the spot while also moving to 16.
Also, if you think moving to the current B12 or a potentially gutted ACC would suddenly make LSU some powerhouse, I think you are drastically underestimating what that move would do to your recruiting and overall athletic department financials.
But, seems y'all are all in on the "frick SEC, we dindu nuthin" so let's see how it plays out.

What rule? No questionable players have been rostered because their status is under review pending the federal suit. Almost like it was done intentionally because LSU would follow whatever the court said. No rule has been broken.

And if you don't roster them then you won't be kicked out.

^^^This. Also the SEC does not care about TROs that only effect the NCAA. What LSU did effects conference rules not NCAA rules.

I worked at a company that elevated an a-hole like Sankey to it's top position. He was highly unqualified as he'd never sold finished goods before, just component parts for electronics, and didn't understand the marketing of finished products. He would go off on people for no good reason, and do his best in meetings to find one thing someone may have said that was a minor part of an overall big picture and he would harp on that. Everyone hated him. I was happy to leave and never be in a meeting with him, again. Just an intimidating a-hole who got his rocks off by being a jerk.

Maybe maybe not.
Wright's agent is Drew Rosenhaus, I can't imagine that HE didn't float this idea, as a way for Wright to keep making money (and thus Rosenhaus continuing to get a cut). Maybe Wright asked Lane and Lane responded with "sounds like that would be a good option for you".
End of the day, practice squad guys make peanuts, and someone like Wright would get high 6 figures (at least) from the right NIL. A "what should I do?" is easily, file the suit and take the NIL. None of these suits have ever been challenged until now.

It is not just Harris and Wright. There has been a pattern of behavior.
The title IX lawsuit. Installing a guy suspended for it as AD. All the times LSU stormed the field and gave the SEC the finger while shouting “you ain’t the boss of us.” Taking a SEC head coach during the season. Trying to take their roster. Calling Ole Miss racist, then doubling down by calling the whole state of Mississippi racist. Rehiring Will Wade. Wade trying to import a European pro team. Lane recruiting NFL players. Going toe to toe with the SEC over it. And the halftime jab from Lane “imagine if we had pro players.” It isn’t one thing, it is a series of events, all of which the league frowns on. It may be enough to get them kicked out of the club.
