Hmmmmm
Full Greg Sankey comments: “Long experience. It’s important to be here. Plenty of disagreement on tough issues. I wanted to represent our universities and their expectations.”
Why he came: “I think it’s important to stand up for principles. Even if people disagree. We’ve not had people leaving NFL training camps and coming back to college. It’s important to stand up for principles.”

He’s right, but he also should realize that the NCAA screwed these athletes. Had they granted them a 5th year, we wouldn’t be here.

Is that for sure? Kids could have left school and still came back. It's certainly a good argument I agree but we don't know that any of this kids would/would not have stayed a 5th year

I can tell ya the guy we got would have never entered the nfl draft if he was granted a fifth before. He was and is still enrolled finishing his last semester to get his MBA. He was also not a very good guard.

It's crazy how so many of you want to play semantics and go down this road. Cutting players off after they've been drafted or signed any kind of agreements with a nfl team should be an easy point of no return as far as their college eligibility is concerned.
If we start playing this game, could a backup qb who rode the bench for 2 years in the nfl but never played a snap come back and play college football? He would technically never have played nfl football. There needs to be a cutoff point or else we're just going to keep playing the same game and pushing the envelope even further and keep redefining what is and isnt an nfl/professional player.

For this class of players, absolutely. They were making mid 6 figures in college and had undrafted grades where they stood to make less than $50k for their cup of coffee in the NFL.

Rookie camps were before the NCAA granted a fifth year of eligibility. Those players truly didn't know that they still could play NCAA football when they went to the minicamp.
The players who went to the training camps in July and August knew full well that they could return for a fifth year. They did not pursue coming back then. They pursued NFL football. When their dream ended, then they sued to come back. Were actually told to do so by your head coach. Facts.

Well, they are a named defendant in one and not the other, so yea it is a little different. They filed an outside affadavit in the Tuscaloosa circuit court in the Bediako case.

Correct, training camp is vastly different than mini camp. Once again a Tiger is mad because they are unable to understand what the grown ups are talking about.

Purpose: To finalize the 53-player roster, build team chemistry, and prepare intensively for the upcoming regular season
It should also be noted that teams can invite anyone they want to mini-camp; nfl player, college player, Mickey and Minnie mouse, Miranda Lambert, Godzilla, anyone they want. It does not automatically make them all NFL players.
