Saban won natties in 3 of first 6 seasons. Since then, 3 of 11. He’s coasting.

Time for someone to have “the talk” with him.

I’m just trying to help our Alabama brethren.

2 of 10. Can we stop pretending 2020 was anything more than cardboard cutouts and female kickers (who, by the way, didn’t even lose a year of eligibility because 2020 did not count)

Not trolling. Doing anything other than burning that 2020 banner is nothing short of embarrassing. Like “we’re going to claim 1908 now” level of embarrassing.

Would you do that if LSU had won the title? Because I feel like we would hear over and over again on this site about how 2019 and 2020 was the greatest two year run in history if LSU had repeated in 2020.

He also seems to ignited a fire under a lot of other programs who are now in an arms race for the best players and coaches. Speaking of coaches, Saban’s best assistants and coordinators have continuously been hired away, usually to head coaching positions or the NFL. Add to that the fact that Alabama has a target on their back every week. Plus, His protege Kirby is doing Saban like things and has cost him probably one national championship directly and a second indirectly by not being DC at Alabama. Combine that with the transfer portal and NIL and I think the answer is a little more complex than “he’s coasting”.

I wouldn’t purposely trash that year, but I certainly wouldn’t brag about it.

The rant would be even more unbearable than it is now

If LSU had won the 2020 national championship, they would proclaim it as the most sensational national championship in the history of the sport. They would point out that it was the only time in history we had a 10 game all SEC regular season schdule. They would point out how their players and staff had to overcome never before faced adversity and challenges. They would pound their chest about their team ignoring all the noise and distractions to win the greatest national championship in history.

But since they were dog shite that year they scream “asterisk”. That is just who they are.

Just put an asterisk by it.

I'm betting that 99% of the rest of college football would give both nuts to be coasting like that.

Embarrassing would be questioning the legitimacy of Alabama's 2020 national championship title while
simultaneously claiming a national championship in a season (2007) you lost to two unranked 8-5 teams yet found a way to be gifted the #2 ranking despite losing one of those games at home in late November.

There is no problem.

There were 4 teams in contention for winning the title. Alabama was one of them.

This program has been in the 4 playoff series more than any other and has only been eliminated in the semis twice.

Name any other team like this. The list is short or non-existent.

Also, in the past 20 years, the national championship has been by the SEC, far more than any other conference. There have been only 3 other programs in the SEC to have done it. None at the level Bama has.

What a ridiculous comment.

Saban raised the bar and now other teams are meeting it and surpassing it.

That is actually a compliment to him.

Time to bring in Dabo.

Saban had a good ride but it's time to take his Red Man and Little Debbies to the lake house.
