Every member pisses the conference off at one time or another. Would Auburn have been kicked out over the Cam situation? Florida during the latter Urban years? A&M a few years ago when Saban and Jumbo got into it?

LSU folks getting exercised should a) read the rules SEC accuses (with solid evidence) of violating and b) decide if they wish to get booted. Ok if they do. The “suicide vest” approach they have been taking doesn’t look like it will work. LSU got called and is looking for options that don’t exist or that fail to account for rules governing voluntary associations. The “but Texas” or “but Trinidad” stuff has surface appeal but collapses completely when one considers the applicable rules. Sad for them but inescapable.

There is no proof of this anywhere. Again, I know they don’t “need” a reason based on the by laws, but is that really the precedent the other member schools want to set? “Hey we don’t know if you did this or not, but some reporter said you did so we’re going to kick you out”. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills

LSU and the other members of the conference have irreconcilable differences. The other members wish to divorce from LSU.
LSU isn't special. If Florida or Auburn were attempting to work against the conference, they would be facing a similar punishment.

I'm not arguing they can't kick LSU out. I'm arguing that it's absolute fricking insanity to support the idea that you can be kicked out of an organization, especially one you're a very important member of, for doing literally nothing wrong, or at least not breaking any rules set by that organization.
You're a smart guy, so it's wild to see you on the side of total incoherence.

I am thinking that LSU might actually be kicked to the curb. Their locked on goof ball said it would not happen. Him stating something is usually the kiss of death.

You are conflating two things:
1.LSU didn't break any rules
This is certainly a defensible position. LSU was operating in a gray area.
2. LSU didn't wrong the SEC
LSU has gone rogue, in the most public fashion, openly opposing the conference. They have very clearly set themselves in opposition to the conference. It is absolutely reasonable for the conference to not be ok with that

Didn't Lane follow exactly what the SEC said? He didn't roster those guys. He said he'd follow the SEC's guidelines, and from what I know, he did.

I’m no fan of Lane Kiffin. I do enjoy LSU & their unique culture when it comes to sports.
But putting expulsion out there is offensive & an unnecessary level of shithousery from the SEC office.
People hated & made fun of the so-called good ol’ boy system, but they would have handled this a lot better than this poo flinging contest between lawyers
