Sanctioned and expelled for not breaking any rules?

If Kiffin was enticing those players to file in court against the NCAA and/or SEC he's definitely open to sanction.

I suspect the league is going to force LSU to acknowledge their right to punish him without "lawfare" or political interference to assert their right to do so and prove to other schools the legal pathway will not work as a get out of jail free card moving forward.

Is that all on LSU? Maybe not, but yall were loudly telling them to piss off from the courts to the administration to the coaches to the fans and now they're going to make an example of you for everyone else to see.

You tell a cop to F off and you cant act surprised when you get popped for something.

I'm not at all sure LSU will go along with that at this point given the donor and admins involved, and that they're weighing pros and cons. but the rumors about them supposedly reaching out to the SEC tells me their blood is up.

Good bye, LSU. It was fun chatting with you all on this board. But time to move on. Once LSU is dropped from the conference, we will move on to other venues to discuss SEC sports. LSU can chat with itself in independent land. Maybe become buddies with Notre Dame.

No one will miss you you useless piece of shite!

Yeah, no, the SEC isn't going to suspend Kiffin for not breaking any rules.

Try it. We'll sue the SEC and every single member institution and we'll let the skeletons out of every closet.

The SEC isn't a fricking cop, it's a nonprofit that's acting more like a cartel currently, and it's on a good fricking path to not existing in a couple of years.

No sanctions. No fines. It's time for Sankey to shite or get off the pot. Either call for a vote or shut the frick up already.

So your position is that if he attempts to sanction LSU and/or Kiffin LSU should sue in local court even if he has proof that Kiffin put the NFL kids up to suing them in the first place?

If so you've just proven that he's right and that only via kicking you out can he enforce rules.

If you wont follow rules without judges getting in the middle theres no path forward.

Best summary so far and this is exactly it.

This entire thing is the SEC demanding that they will set the rules and any university that gets the courts involved will be dealt with harshly. Basically the SEC is trying to say going to the courts and trying to get your way is not an option if you want to be in the conference.

Will LSU play La Tech or UL-Lafayette in their annual end of the year rivalry game of the season?

this is the best summary of the whole thing.

its the SEC saying " we will enforce the rules, they are our rules, and if you dont like it tough and you cant use your local courts to cut us down"

Conference regulations is the only path to sustainability unless the federal legislation passes which it looks like it wont.

LSU picked an awful time to go full rogue on this so publicly. They challenged the sustainability of the league IMO and I don't know if the egos involved are going to back off until its too late because the local pressure and "Louisiana vs everyone" mindset is going to get in the way.

I dont want LSU out, I enjoyed the uniqueness the school brings but they dont make the rules for everyone else. UGA, TN and a couple other presidents already warned them and they were smart to not play the pro kids.

I truly hope they're smart enough to make a negotiated peace where everyone can save a little face or this could end up where no one really wants it to IMO.

So you try to frame your question so that I have to accept your bullshite scenario as fact.

First of all, there is no proof that Lane Kiffin or anyone at LSU put anyone up to suing the SEC.

Secondly, the SEC was not even the original subject of the lawsuit. Sankey inserted the SEC himself.

Thirdly, that specific lawsuit was not the first of it's kind, and it involved over 40 athletes from the class of 2022, of which LSU was only interested in 2.

Fourthly, both players stated under oath that multiple SEC programs attempted to recruit them.

So get the facts straight, idiot.

No.

That's what they're saying about LSU specifically.

If that's what they were saying about the conference as a whole, they would have taken on Ole Miss in the spring.

Hence why the SEC will lose if they keep pushing.

Players were never rostered. LSU broke no rules.

If Sankey feels the need to make an example of someone, Texas, Missouri, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Arkansas all have professional players on their football and/or basketball teams.

I stated IF the conference believes Kiffin did that they have grounds for sanctions. They say in federal court they have it. They don't need it to enforce their rules unless your courts get in the way. Or you can leave.

If LSU is going to use courts to infringe on the conference enforcing rules you will be voted out.

Its that simple.

Maybe you care, maybe you don't.

But understand the more of this posturing people see the fewer supporters you will have and it wont be your choice either way because it threatens the viability of the entire conference.

its all bullshite but im trying to see the SEC side and what they are trying to do and this is it.

Sankey is saying no institution can use the local courts to undermine the conference and if anyone does expulsion may be in order.

Sankey's ego completely went off the rails here but thats whats happening. He wants the SEC to make rules, everyone follows those rules, and NO ONE challenges them or has the capacity to challenge them . To him, a challange to the rules is challenging the fabric of the conference itself.

If Kiffin enticed them to sue he's open to sanction. You can like that or not, they don't care.

And I hope they do enforce the rules against those other schools. They cant if the precedent is set that their local courts can prevent it.

That means he has to drop nuts on LSU who called that into question and gloated about it or theyre as toothless as the NCAA who is inevitably going to be replaced.

This is why they are going to lose that lawsuit, IMO.

They’ve overreached massively.

Sankey, and the "SEC" in general, is terrified of becoming what happened to the NCAA.

This whole thing is a microcosm of what the real problem is and thats that there are no rules really until the federal government fixes all of this shite.

He thinks they’re going to get to go on a fishing expedition into Kiffin’s communications.

Because, you know, that’s totally legal and all.
