I remember I saw Tom Petty in Gainesville.

I like Tom Petty but I’m not a fan of playing “I won’t back down” at every home game. I mean, the guy left Gainesville in the 1970s. That’s even further back than 1980!

Jimmy Buffet learned the guitar at Auburn. I think he only survived one semester before flunking out. Can we claim him?

When I went to SC (1978-1983), I had a professor at SC that graduated from Auburn. He said he had a class with Jimmy Buffett when he was at Auburn.

I know you got upvotes from Tiger fans but he was born and grew up in Gainesville. Kind of easy to connect the dots.
