And the P5 Conference Champions look like this:

BIG 10: Ohio State (13-0)
SEC: LSU (13-0)
BIG 12: Oklahooma (13-0)
ACC: Clemson (13-0)
PAC 12: Oregon (12-1)

Does Clemson get that last Playoff spot over 11-1 Alabama?

Clemson will likely not have a single win over a ranked team. Bama would have defeated Auburn at Auburn... the team that beat the otherwise unbeaten PAC 12 champ.

Does the Committee use that as a reason to leap frog Bama over Clemson?

If they’re undefeated, they’re getting in.

Bama is the only team in the country that will get in at 11-1 over a 13-0 team. “Eye Test”

Clemson is the defending national champion. Clemson vs. [Insert Team Here] with the same record will go to Clemson.

Clemson has dropped in the polls each week after three straight wins. They better be praying several of those teams end up with a loss.

No

Thus far the committee has only put in a non-conference champ over a conference champ with TWO losses. They are not putting in a non-champ over an undefeated power 5 conference champ even if that power 5 conference looks more like a group of 5 conference.

Undefeated Notre Dame has managed to get into these games twice (BCS once and playoffs once) despite everyone and their grandmother knowing they were vastly outmatched (except Lee Corso, apparently).

If you're undefeated and P5, the only thing keeping you out is other undefeated teams.

Only way 11-1 Alabama gets in the playoff is if their are only 3 undefeated P5 teams.

Better question:

11-1 Alabama (loss to LSU)
12-1 UF/UGA (SEC Champ Winner)
12-1 LSU (SEC Runner up)

Only 2 undefeated P5 champions in the other 4 conferences.

If the SEC gets a 2nd team in with 1 loss is it UA that didn't win their division or LSU that lost the SECCG, but beat UA?

The AAC is a better conference than the ACC this year.

This is what I'm leaning to as well.

They'll use the "eye test" to say Bama is a better team than Clemson and they'll also note Tua wasn't 100% in their loss to LSU (hypothetically speaking) so therefore they should get the benefit of the doubt.

You can see this coming a mile a way. In some ways I hope it happens so it blows up the stupid 4-team playoff. It needs to be 8 teams with the 5 Power Champs guaranteed a spot so this "eye test", otherwise known as Kirk Herbstreit's biased opinion, doesn't hold so much value.

If that scenario plays out, I think Bama ends up at #6. Two one-loss Power 5 conference teams have made the play-offs without winning their division, Ohio State in 2016 and Bama in 2017. In both years, there were two multi-loss Power 5 conference champs...

Everyone says this now. They have to or otherwise it looks like they have an agenda. Even Herbstreit would stick with this opinion while it doesn't matter.

But when it comes down to it and its time to select the 4 teams, suddenly everyone has a realization that the eye test should be closely examined and all the talking heads come to the same decision that in real time they tell us actually isn't controversial because its so obvious.... of course it defies everything they told us all year long, but the public is supposed to nod and accept this "eye test" in full agreement.

Clemson is in if undefeated. Though I think they have no room for error and will be jumped by either an 11-1 Bama/LSU, or a 12-1 conference champ Oregon. I bet many committee members don't feel like they can keep out the undefeated defending champ even if they think they should, but they would gladly use a loss as the justification for punishing a terrible schedule.
