re: Ranking the Top 5 WRs in the SEC for 2022. Who do you have? - OldPete
The post you replied to mentioned total yards. Did you factor in his rushing yards?
Good catch, no I did not...with rushing, he had 6 less total yards than Burton......

re: Ranking the Top 5 WRs in the SEC for 2022. Who do you have? - OldPete
Ladd McConkey probably deserves an HM more than Smith. Had more total yards and TDs than Burton, Smith, or Mitchell this year.
Not quite. McConkey had 5 more catches but 50 less receiving yards than Burton...and the same amount of TDs (5)......

re: off season, looking back in history, for the whiners about how hard their SEC schedule is - OldPete
Wasn't that the team that beat yall like a drum in BHM and finally convinced Bear that he should recruit colored folk?
No, the football team had been integrated for 7 or 8 years at that point. While USC also beat us that year (24-14), the season you're talking 'bout is 1970 when Sam...

re: off season, looking back in history, for the whiners about how hard their SEC schedule is - OldPete
A lot of SEC schools played similar schedules back in the 60's and 70's. Here's Bama's schedule in 1978: #10 Nebraska at #11 Missouri #7 USC Vanderbilt at Washington Florida at Tennessee Virginia Tech Mississippi State #10 LSU Auburn #1 Penn State (Sugar Bowl) 4 of their first 5 ga...

re: Hearing two rumors - OldPete
...and have only been a Falcons fan for 25 years, you don't know how badly they can frick this up.
Truer words have never been spoken; I've been a Falcons fan since I was a kid in the late 60's and I've just about seen it all. We were up 28-3 with about 5 minutes or so to go in the ...

re: Hearing two rumors - OldPete
His failure to overrule Shanahan's indefensible playcalling after Julio got them deep into FG range with an 8 point lead was one of the most notable examples of coaching malpractice in NFL history and there was never any coming back from it. They literally could have just taken 3 knees, kicke...

re: Hearing two rumors - OldPete
The Falcons really fricked up by keeping Bro Quinn and Dimitroff around as long as they did.
I could’ve seen it if they hadn’t blown a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl; as a long suffering Falcons fan, one Super Bowl title would’ve been worth all the pain since that game…...

re: Tight end Jahleel Billingsley transferring from Alabama Crimson Tide to Texas Longhorns - OldPete
Be sure to tell your coaches to throw to him in clutch situations.
Bryce Young threw to him on 4th and 7 on the 97-yard game-tying drive against Auburn…he caught that one… Not sure what the issue was with Billingsley this year; he got in the doghouse early and never really got bac...

re: Transfer Portal & NFL Draft - Comings, Goings and Rumors Thread - OldPete
I was disappointed in Billingsley this year…but I still remember the good plays he had for us. Pretty much this year, all I’ll remember is his 4th down catch against Auburn…not sure what the issue was this year, I thought he was due for a big season… But last year, he was good and I won’t forget...

re: Which is the best team you’ve seen win a natty and why - OldPete
1995 Nebraska. They trailed once all season (never trailed in the second half) and they boat-raced a great Florida team in the championship game that had dominated the SEC. Of the 12 games on their schedule, only one was a non-Power 5 team; they won every game by 14+ points. They stomped four team...

re: Transfer Portal & NFL Draft - Comings, Goings and Rumors Thread - OldPete
The guy is a horrible playcaller. His best plays usually were the scripted ones he started the game with after which he would never revisit.
We scored 24 points in 2nd quarter against UGA long after the scripted plays had been run… As for the CFPCG, if we don’t have the key drops...

re: 2 years ago today LSU won the 2019 natty - OldPete
Your right, maybe Alabama would have won if they didn’t have Tua, Ruggs, Jeudy, And Willis holding them back in 2019.
As for our offense in 2019, Tua wasn't 100% in that game and the Devonta Smith/John Metchie tandem put up much better receiving numbers in 2020 than Ruggs/Jeudy in 20...
Especially love the Bama fans crying about 2020-the asterisk year of all asterisk years- when they played nothing near the schedule LSU played in 2019.
We don't cry about 2020, we celebrate it, much like LSU fans celebrate 2019, as you should... In 2020, Bama played an all Power 5...
The greatest team EVER will never be surpassed!
Sorry to burst your bubble Stephen but, according to at least four different rating systems, your "greatest team EVER" was surpassed in just one year: 1. Bill Connelly's SP+ has 2020 Alabama as the best team ever (he's applied his me...

re: I knew UGA was going to win when... - OldPete
I knew UGA was going to win when...
While I didn't know it, I felt that the game changed when we had the 7-minute drive late in the 3rd quarter up 9-6. Bryce threw a perfect pass and it was dropped inside the 5. UGA's line then came up big with a blocked FG; a couple of play...
