Jay Johnson sandbagged to wear out the UF players. Aint got no runs left in 'em.

Looks like LSU is about to repay the favor and close that margin.

It's like he's pitching to high school kids. Was he this dominant at AF last year?

We're playing Alabama, so that's probably insulting to the High school kids.

I will forever be an advocate of a warm up game after that one. It would have made a night and day difference imo.

It wouldn't have been as big an issue if both teams were going into the matchup rusty, but FSU did have a warmup game the week before and LSU didn't.

I don't have an issue with starting the season with a non-con P5 game, but I think it is kind of shite that FSU played a cream-puff warm-up before us to shake off any rust.

We used to say this about Les for 10 games each season.
He’s holding back!!! Lol

Any game now we'll see the secret playbok
LSU, aTm, and Auburn are all in fact garbage.

Arkansas does look solid, but still too early to really buy in.

State and Ole Miss are probably top 25 teams, but I see them each losing 2 games in the conference.

Even if Alabama is a little weaker than usual and slips up against someone, I'm not sure the other 3 teams are consistent enough to finish with a better record even if one of them manages to win the H2H.

Do your % include everyone on the list? Because a bunch of those guys haven’t been draft eligible.

Yes. OP kinda fricked up his entire post with this mistake.

He talks about how only 1 of the 8 5* guys was a first round pick, but 3 of those 8 are still playing CFB. So for draft eligible players it is 1 out of 5. Stingley is likely to go in the 1st round.

I don’t see how you can say it’s harder when you’re just 1-2 players away like in the NBA.

This makes the NBA a much more player driven league and if your team isn't in a nice location it is going be hard to get those players.

How many great players are clamoring to go to Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto, Atlanta, OKC, etc?

Last few super teams have been in California, Miami, or NYC.
Imagine letting some random LSU fans on a message board own this much of your free time.
When I was going to Auburn I saw Brian VanGorder at the gym I went to once. Not sure how prominent we consider him to be, but that's all I've got.

Saw Gus at the AU Student center once, but not really going to count college coaches on campus.

get into the playoffs at 10-2 without winning the SEC

How does a team get to 10-2 with a 10 game schedule + SECCG?

Alabama claiming wins like they claim titles, now?

1. Georgia

3-12. wtf knows
13. LSU
14. Vandy

This is the correct answer.

so the gap between 4 and 11 is 4 points?

I mean, it is a week 2 power ranking. They are all kinds of fricky until you get at least a handful of games.

UT is 2-0 and it would be a hard sell to put them any lower than 4. USCe is 0-2 and while I think they are a bit higher than 11 I can't imagine putting them above the 1-1 teams that won this past weekend (Arky & Ole Miss)so that still leaves them no higher than 9.

Right now y'all are the highest ranked 0-2 team and UT is the lowest ranked 2-0 team. That's about the best you can realistically hope for.

1 Bama
2 UGA
3 UF

4 UT
5 LSU
6 Aub

7 OM
8 MSU
9 Arky
10 A&M
11 USCe
12 UK

(gap)

13 Miz
14 Vandy

This is pretty close to how I voted. 1-3 are pretty clear right now. Same with 4-6, though LSU & Auburn are both of questionable quality given their losses it is hard to really put anyone else that high. 13 & 14 are pretty locked in.

7-12 is a mess. UK looked alright against Auburn for periods, but lost a close one to Ole Miss. USCe has 2 losses, but they were somewhat close against 2 of the best teams in the division. MSU shocked LSU and then shocked everyone by losing to Arky. A&M let Vandy hang around and got blown out by Alabama. I think you can make a number of arguments for nearly any order in that grouping.

One game sample isn’t enough. If you go in and completely destroy Arkansas I’ll say 25%. Even then it’s not a big sample. I hope you are I really do!

This. I have no doubt State has a solid offense, but until LSU goes up against a few more teams we'll never know how bad the LSU secondary was.

A&M looked rough against Vandy, but maybe Vandy is better than we're thinking.

UK looked like the better team for a half against Auburn and still did respectable.

I think the odds are very high that MSU is at least 3-1. Decent enough odds to go 4-0, but right now we really don't know who their toughest test will be.
Having AD and Lebron makes them one of the most talented teams. The rest of their roster isn't elite, but has solid role players that do well enough in their roles to let the other 2 carry.

It doesn't hurt that they have one of the most athletic and talented big men in the league during an era where most of the league has decided they don't want a traditional post presence.
Shocked out bad our secondary was.

Shocked we couldn't get much going on the ground.

Shocked 34 points against State didn't put a W on the schedule.
Pretty accurate and has a good arm. Holds on to the ball entirely too long and definitely gets "deer in the headlights." O-line did him no favors and the WRs had a few drops.

Hopefully he gets his feet under him quickly and settles down. If not the Alabama game is going to get very, very ugly.
