8-4
MSU lost their best coach in school history. 7-5 is also possible.

It will be 10-2. Likely loss to Alabama and one we aren't supposed to lose.
Sure wins:
Sucky nonconference games
Kansas State (I like that people are predicting a loss here - it will serve as an early-season eye opener to everyone).
Florida
LSU
Kentucky
Arkansas
A&M
Toss ups:
Auburn (like our chances here...probably will be favored by the time the game is played)
Ole Miss (never know about that stupid game, especially on the road, but MSU should win)

statistically speaking, the least likely wins are @LSU and @Bama.
After that, there are several toss ups.
So...ceiling is (10-2).
(6-6) is the floor.
p.s. that's a tough schedule.

Toss-up vs. LSU
Toss-up vs. aTm
W vs LaTech
L vs Bama (But could always sneak up on them, as CNS is all about year round prep and the 2018 MSU team likely won't truly show itself until the KSU game)
W vs Arky
W vs. UM (But who knows in a rivalry)
I think they could win 1 of the toss-ups. I'd guess aTm as the Aggies have a tough 3 game road stretch during that time.
EtA: this assumes a healthy Fitzgerald.

I am not getting the love for Kansas State in this thread. Is it just because it's early in the season?

Alabama is the pnly sure loss on that schedule. Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU, A&M and Florida are the other loseable game. However, Auburn is the only one of those I don’t favor State in.
People like to point at Mullen leaving but Moorhead is not a nobody. He is credited with a big part of turning Penn State around. He also has Head Coach experience, albeit not at a D1 level at Fordham, and did really well there. He completely turned that program around.
Regardless at the end of the day, MSU returns 19 starters on a 9-win football team. Even with a coaching change that is a lot of experience and talent.

Could be totally wrong, but that is a tough place to go play, early in the season with a new coaching staff and a QB coming back from injury. Just seems like a tough one.
That is one of those early games where State could go in and kick the shite out them and kind of put the world on notice (even if KSU isn't good).
