My post doesn’t have anything to do with the Big 12 and why you think it does is a mystery. I guess have to just file it away in “he’s aggy.”

Edit: forgot ou backed out

Please, tell us more about how OU backed out of the UGA game:

The statement released by the SEC regarding the scheduling adjustment reads as follows:

"The Southeastern Conference has directed the University of Georgia and the University of Tennessee to postpone scheduled football games versus Oklahoma because the transition of Oklahoma into the SEC will not allow for the involved institutions to fulfill their respective contractual non-conference home-and-home appearance obligations.

I don’t like Saban anymore than the haters but he’s been the number 1 proponent of 9 games since day 1

You can’t do 8 games with 16 teams unless you basically rotate all your opponents every year with no permanent rivals. Maybe 1 rival but that would eliminate a ton of great annual rivalry games

Might as well just have two different conferences at this point. Next time LSU will play in Athens will be in 2032 prolly

Even with an eight game conference schedule, you’ll still play home and away against every other school over a four year period.

Because currently every team has a permanent cross division opponent. Think TN-Bama, UGA-Aub, and LSU-UF. Those will be going away.

Still looks like there is nothing remotely official regarding scheduling. Sankey apparently favors nine games. LINK

I hope regardless of eight or nine games, we do away with divisions and incorporate the three permanent rivals system. Just makes more sense.

Until he learned who his permanent opponent would be, then he cried like a bitch

Not against 9 games. He was interviewed Saturday and said it would be a huge mistake to stick with 8 games. He’s never waived

Good? Really?

Is it really good to keep Chattanooga, The Citadel and all that crap on the schedule?

Georgia non-conference 2023 UT Martin, Ball State, UAB, Georgia Tech.

It would be a heck of a lot better to replace UT Martin or Ball State with at least 1 SEC foe.

That's nice and all, but I'm not a UGA fan. UF is playing 3 P5 OOC next year. Maybe your Tide should step up.

Remind me…what’s the issue if we stay at 8 conference games with 2 permanent opponents and 6 other conference games? I agree with keeping that 9th game as a bargain chip to eventually surpass the Big 10 deal.

This makes it impossible to play every team twice in 4 years, which is a major feature of the 3-6/6 9-game schedule. On the other hand, with a 1-7/7 8-game schedule, every team plays both home and away at every school in 4 years. It just sacrifices some important annual rivalries in the process.

Hope that helps.

And those rivalries don't have to be sacrificed. Auburn/UGA, Bama/Vols, etc can be played OOC in years they aren't playing each other in conference play.

You’re absolutely right… so many on this and other forums seem to think with 12 teams in the CFP, the SEC is going to load up on playoff teams. That’s far from reality, in fact with a 9 game league schedule I would suggest that getting 3 teams in would not be guaranteed in the current setup.

Since when have you posted a desire to play Missouri or Oklahoma twice in four years?
I haven't seen those posts the past 10+ years.
