When I first moved to Lexington, I was told they used to have a minor league hockey team named the Kentucky Thoroughblades. That’s just a phenomenal name. You still see merchandise here and there around town.
How do you only have four guys on the floor????
KU over Zona in the ‘03 elite 8. Great game featuring great seniors. Hinrich and Collison for KU and Gardner and Walton for Zona.

Ohio State vs St. John’s elite 8 in ‘99 was terrific.

IU comeback over Duke in the ‘02 sweet 16.

UVA vs Purdue 2019

I’ll second this. I was at the game in Louisville. Still have no idea how we pulled that out.

Jay Williams actually suggested him on First Take. Just a complete clown show.

I actually think it was Stephen A Smith who suggested it, Jay Williams called him an idiot.

I am actually hearing it will be a former Florida coach. Although… not Golden.

Hard to believe that Billy D is only 60. That said, the game has changed a lot in the 11 years since he left for OKC.
It’ll be interesting to see if Self retires. That could leave 2 of the top 4-5 jobs in the country open at the same time.

The 1990s called and it wants its bracket back. Iowa had at least one S16 in the 90s too. I remember them beating Arkansas in the late 90s to advance.

Probably the 1998-1999 season. The UCONN team that upset Duke in the final beat Iowa in the sweet 16 that year.

I mean he has to take the shot.
What an awful possession

This talk of Self needing to retire is hilarious. 4 years removed from a national title. Comes across more as y’all hope he retires rather than he needs to.

I get it, he’s one of the great coaches of all time, but one sweet 16 in 7 years at KU isn’t acceptable. It’s clear that he’s lost his fastball. He hasn’t adjusted to the portal era very well and it shows.

God Kansas players and fans are so pathetic They were all doing the stupid arse replay the tape signal, hoping these corrupt refs would steal that basket

Or maybe, they just wanted to make sure that the shot got off in time since their season was on the line. The refs missed one call late on the over and back. Other than that, it was St, John’s running awful offense that allowed KU back in the game.

Is there a chance self hangs it up after the season?

I’d guess probably one more year. They’re the heavy favorites for Tyran Stokes, the number one recruit in the country, so he’ll probably give it one more shot.

Purdue has zero final fours in school history and yet we are led to believe that Rick Mount is like Magic Johnson by them.

They’ve been to three final fours. They played UCONN in the title game two years ago.

Insane that in the same year that Indiana wins a national championship in football, we have a Sweet 16 Nebraska team.

That was reminiscent of Gordon Hayward against Duke
