So destroy rivalries to keep Nick from playing a decent schedule? Sounds about right.

What rivalry game that is played every year presently would be removed if OU was placed in East and Texas in the West?

Are you talking about Bama/Vols? They could still play in 2024 since each school only has 1 P5 OOC scheduled.

I wonder if we do play 8 games, Will the SEC try to schedule a Pac 12, Big 12 or Big 10 OCC. We should cut ties with the ACC and let them sink & break up.

No reason A&M and Texas can't play in Jerry World, y'all only have 1 P5 OOC scheduled.

Remind me…what’s the issue if we stay at 8 conference games with 2 permanent opponents and 6 other conference games? I agree with keeping that 9th game as a bargain chip to eventually surpass the Big 10 deal.

Lmao doesn’t the 8 game schedule keep LSU vs A&M on Thanksgiving?? It’s gonna be tu vs Arkansas then that weekend.

I wish but an 8 game schedule means we keep Mizzou as our one permanent and that game stays on Thanksgiving. I was really hoping for the 9 game schedule with Mizzou, Texas and Ole Miss as our Rivals so we could get Texas on that weekend instead but no way that happens now.

Alabama fans told us for years Saban wanted 9 games.

So Sankey said money doesn’t lead, it follows. Trying to justify not getting paid for better content.

How is this guy the SEC commissioner. Did he learn the line from the old Big 10 Commish.

Majority of Ags want it to stay LSU the last game.

2024: Texas/Texas A&M, LSU/Arkansas
2025: Texas/Arkansas, Texas A&M/LSU
Rinse and repeat.

Appeases everyone's Thanksgiving wishes while somewhat maintaining history.

We'd play them half the time, just doesn't have to be on Thanksgiving weekend.

That weekend is special in that
(a) A&M want LSU
(b) Texas wants A&M
(c) Arkansas wants Texas and/or LSU

That rotation basically achieves what everyone wants.

SEC's oldest rivalry is Auburn-UGA.

We will NOT have divisions or pods.

We will have ONE permanent opponent and play 7 and 7 over two years. Example for LSU...

2024 @A&M, @UGA, Auburn, @Tennessee, Texas, Mizzou, @OMiss, Vandy

2025 A&M, Florida, @Bama, SCarolina, @Oklahoma, @Arkansas, State, @UK

2026---same teams as 2024 but at opposite sites.
2027---same teams as 2025 but at opposite sites.

If they are doing 8 team divisions this is the obvious decision. Everyone else keeps their permanent opponent and Texas plays Oklahoma as theirs.

I would 100% be down with that. That’s probably the best we can ask for with an 8 game schedule.

That is appealing but wouldn't it mean that e.g. Alabama would only ever meet Oklahoma in Atlanta? Since Alabama's lone cross-division game would have to be Tennessee?

He does. What does that have to do with ESPN refusing to adjust the SEC payout for the 9th games?

If they aren’t getting paid more I get not wanting to go to 9.

They need to do away with divisions and adopt a 1-7 schedule. Who is everyone’s permanent?

UGA-UF
Bama-Auburn
OU-UTx
Ole Miss- State

Who does that leave?
Ark-Missouri
LSU-aTm
UTn-Vandy
USCe-UK
