Can someone rationally explain to me the hatred of Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss?

- Was it the timing (i.e., before the Playoffs)?
- Was it due to not coaching in the Playoffs?
- Was it due to leaving Ole Miss for LSU, arguably Ole Miss's biggest rival?
- Was it due to all the offseason behavior (trying to roster the 3 players)?

The Runts have never had a more successful 6 year stretch in their entire existence. That's the reason. Don't overthink it.

With Lane it's never about him leaving. It's how he leaves. It's always a spectacular bridge burning.

Timing was part of it and being spurned for another is another, but it was likely more the loss of hope and venture back into the unknown. Ole Miss has been mediocre to really bad for a long time. Lane had them regularly nationally relevant and hopeful for the first time since Vaught was coaching, outside of a few blips on the radar.

Bigger ?? is why did UTk have such a bad reaction. They still carry that bruised ego over Lane today. That one is weird.

I can’t enough of reliving the thousands of twitter posts about how Lane isn’t leaving and loves Ole Miss and it’s just as good of a job as LSU

And all the fans yelling we love lane at the game when the rumors started

Then he dumps your arse and you always hated him and he sucks as a coach. lol never change.

It’s like losing a 5 star to a rival and saying we didn’t need him anyways. We’re happy with our 3 star that really wants to be here.

If it weren’t already true, just imagine your wife all of a sudden, fricking your best friend.

Reality check. We got told time after time Kiffin wouldn't leave. No way he will leave this team. LSU isn't a better program. Blah blah blah blah blah. Kiffin leaving gave them the truth that they wouldn't accept.

His comments about the scuffle between the drunk LSU loser and the OM frat boys didn't help as well.
