He built the program to one of the top programs in the country. The last of post season success is an issue. The program is at a point where any quality coach can recruit to Ole Miss. The idea that we would immediately suck if we fired him is asinine. Why is Bianco the only baseball coach on the planet to win in Oxford with the current state of the program?

The annals of sports are full of programs that thought they had gotten too big for a coach, you could be right but it is a big chance to take.

Well yeah, I guess

I’m just saying, if you’re going to use his bombs in the post season as fuel to get rid of him, then you also has to use the other successes I listed as reasons to keep him.

Right now, the successes outnumber the bombs (IMO)

Ask me after the game today. I think he needs to get to Omaha this year. If not now, when?

I have plenty more problems with him going 5 years without a Super Regional than the 1 Omaha visit tbh.

We can't let the program slip away because of being too loyal.

We don’t have an AD. Bianco isn’t going anywhere

We're one game away from Omaha. The AD issue is irrelevant.

That’s essentially what I’m asking. In the event of a loss today, what would your feelings be towards him.m? I know what they’d be if he gets a win

The frustration with the fanbase stems from two things:
1. Only 1 CWS appearance in 19 years.
2. Seeing assistants like Dan McDonnell leave and turn Louisville into a regular at the CWS.

But Bianco isn't going anywhere. And yes - our program was a dumpster fire before he arrived. As a fanbase, we eventually have to ask ourselves if we're happy with where we are at, or if we believe we should do better than 1 CWS appearance every 19 years. The support is there, the facilities are there, and the expectations should be at least once every five years.

That's just my thoughts, anyways.

He wasnt going anywhere. He has built OM into a consistent team. I'd be ok with him indefinitely if he promised no more bunt calls.

Well if he didn't make it this year it would have been another former Bianco assistant making another Omaha appearance.

But then again I’ve seen HJJ say some absolutely nutty things on here.

I agree I get wild sometimes. But it sucks always being one game away and never getting there or choking with the best talent our program has ever seen.

I've been hearing a lot of talk about people wanting him as the new AD which would lead to him hiring a great successor for baseball. Problem with that though would be that gap of not having a coach until he's able to make the hire.

My thoughts on getting rid of him are torn. He makes bonehead decisions during games that ultimately cost us wins but he's able to make the adjustments for future games. Maybe if he just let his assistants help more? We've had plenty of faulty baserunning on the 3rd base side and some questionable batting choices. He'd need at least another 2 years to determine his fate as next season we will have to rebuild from the loss of Kessinger, Dillard, Johnson, Etheridge and Caracci. We'll see how he responds there.

That was my point. We seemed to have had better talent when Dan was with the program. We take a big step back offensively after this year, but pitching will be better next year.

Or even worse....not making it out of your own regional with the same line-up and your entire weekend rotation get drafted.

He's not going anywhere anytime soon unless he chooses to. I honestly think that he could've got bounced out of the regional in two games and still had his job.

Any OM fan that wants him gone is either young or has a short memory, he is OM baseball. The entire program was trash before he arrived and he built everything that is there.

Bianco built what is a pretty solid program, we were absolutely nothing before he got here. The man should deserve to stay as long as he wants, unless he starts turning in years like Alabama just had.

Bianco has been so damn consistently good & solid.

It's the "Always the bridesmaid" syndrome. We have been good in the regular season but always seem to fall apart in regional/super regional play. It's tough to get so close year after year but never a threat to win it all.
