It seemed like the majority of your fan base was at its’ wits end with him after what looked to be another late season collapse. He’s managed to turn things around and has y’all 1 win away from Omaha against an Arkansas team I believe is a top 2-3 team in the country.

The end goal is Omaha, especially for schools that invest so much in college baseball like LS2&Q, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vandy, y’all, etc. If y’all are unable to pull one out today against Arkansas, has this late run earned Bianco a longer leash?

Zero chance Bianco gets fired even if he loses today.

More of a question of the fans opinions of him. I know his job is safe, but will the fans that were calling for his head just 2 weeks ago feel differently

He wasnt going anywhere. He has built OM into a consistent team. I'd be ok with him indefinitely if he promised no more bunt calls.

He has indeed earned a longer leash. It's incredibly hard to replace an entire weekend rotation, and he has done just that. We have lost some frustrating games this year, but we are one game away from a CWS berth. Next year will be an interesting one considering that we will probably lose Grae, Dillard, Ethridge, and Cooper Johnson to the draft.

Properly executed bunts can win you baseball games, man. Problem is you rarely see guys out there truly giving themselves up and laying one down. Everybody tries to drag and end up stabbing at it and popping it up

Between last year's regional and the collapse of the last three weeks of the regular season, we could have justifiably fired Bianco. Rightfully so, we should expect more than 1 appearance in 19 years.

But he made some great line-up changes and has torn arse since. He's obviously done enough this year to secure his job. How in the hell could anyone imagine justifying firing a guy that's one win from Omaha.

...thats not the reason why we don't want him to ever call a bunt again.

Any OM fan that wants him gone is either young or has a short memory, he is OM baseball. The entire program was trash before he arrived and he built everything that is there.

LSU made a major mistake not getting him when Skip retired, he could have accomplished a great deal with those resources.

My feelings too. But then again I’ve seen HJJ say some absolutely nutty things on here.

Are we frustrated at the lack of postseason success? Yes

Are we pleased with our program’s status in the world? Probably

Do we feel it could be higher? Probably. Scholarship limitations and such aside

Bianco has built OM into a premier program with facilities. Some more trips to Omaha would be nice, however Bianco IS the program. He’s not going anywhere.

What our program was like 20 years ago is completely irrelevant. Our program expectations are much different.

That’s debatable at best

He built the program to one of the top programs in the country. The last of post season success is an issue. The program is at a point where any quality coach can recruit to Ole Miss. The idea that we would immediately suck if we fired him is asinine. Why is Bianco the only baseball coach on the planet to win in Oxford with the current state of the program?

With that’s said, he need to make it to Omaha about once every 5 years. This is year 5 and next year is a rebuilding year. If he loses today it will be 1 Super in 6 years with no trips to Omaha after next year. He probably won’t survive that.

This is exactly what State fans were saying toward the end of the Polk Era. Here's hoping Bianco doesn't stay too long and damage his legacy

This is why I asked the question. Essentially what you’re saying is you think if he doesn’t win today his days are numbered at Ole Miss

Ole Miss fans calling for Bianco's head are moronic Internet warriors. Just ignore them.

That’s why I said ‘probably’

Facilities? Check
Fan support? Check
Program recognition? Check
Recruiting? Check
Regular season consistency? Check
Post season success? X

Aside from the post season frustrations, the program is in good shape. Hence my ‘probably’ answer

(Now the argument that ‘teams are judged by what they do in the playoffs’ is an arguement for another day)
